Reus leaving for Dortmund I can understand--he is from there after all and his family and girlfriend still live there. But Leverkusen? Of course when you have one of the world's largest companies behind you, even when you don't have that many fans....

I'm just back from my winter holidays today ... and then get confronted with this news. Well, I'm not really surprised about Marco Reus' move in summer (it was to be expected, despite my hope that he'd maybe stay for another season ... but to be honest, I didn't believe that BvB could afford paying us € 18 million) ... however, Neustädter's refusal to sign a new contract wasn't on my agenda. Well, if he believes he'll get enough playing time in Vizekusen (apparently they want him as replacement for Ballack), let him go there. I definitely won't miss him (in contrast to Reus), although his development under Favre was impressive. We've already got adequate replacements for him with the young talents Cigerci & Ring (who are even better in my eyes).

It's gonna be tough to replace Marco Reus, though ... but I totally trust our Sportdirektor & Trainer to spend the money wisely. I'm pretty sure we'll get even more depth & quality next season if we don't lose more important players (like Dante & Arango), hence.

Well, after all they pay us more than twice as much as you paid for Marko Marin. :))

As long as they remit this amount, I don't care whether they are cheeky money bastards or not. The Bayern officials probably won't be amused to see Reus & Götze playing together in their main rival's team. :)

And that was already too much. ;) I hope the guy gets back on track. :(

Who pays 17.5 million € for a single player is a cheeky money bastard. And who pays 30 million € like Bayern sometimes is criminal.

Edit: An what Magath does is Wolfsburg is insane. Already 28.7 million € transfer deficit this season.

All they have to do is sell a few more GTIs....;)

I was almost sure favre will convince him to stay one more year after this season. And am sure he would have benefited from this..just my gut feeling, yes he is a dynamo and on the "UP" but I still think he had this special spell going on in this triangle here at gladbach...and he should have stayed one more season.I wish him luck he truly saved our butts more than a dozen times..but am not totally convinced this was the right move at this point for him.Am grateful we have a coach such as Lucien and as much as reus was his go to guy..but he is a firm believer of proper technical know how combined with precision practice...and am sure he can manage to still improve our club w.out reus..it's all about discipline and finding each players strength ...of course having top notch quality such as reus is like icing on the cake....roman is leaving to,well can't say I would miss him all that much!
We have good depth in our youth squad and our young signings..am sure they will step up most of them are very promising....if we grab a CL spot or break into Europe by the way of the German cup that can also help us immensely in the transfer market come end of season:D

GTIs will probably not be enough, today Magath already spent another 4 million € for two players from the Portuguese league.

But back to Gladbach: Despite I am still a bit pissed about such sums (it is good for BMG, but still has a taste of megalomania), I wish him good luck in Dortmund.

Maxmilian Besiter is potentially a good replacement of Reus.

He is doing very well in 2BL, the 21 year old has enormous potenital and u can tell he is a well established player rather than just a project.

Would like to see more playing time from Younes and Moritz Goettel too

Beister belongs to HSV and will return there at the end of the season (Düsseldorf can't keep him). I doubt they are willing to sell him.

Btw: It looks like Neustädter is gonna join Schalke and not Leverkusen at the end of the season. Well, who cares...

The team has arrived in Turkey this afternoon.

Let's hope for a good preparation without injuries. Our starting games after the winter break are damn tough, so we'll hopefully manage to avoid losing too many points at spot 7 until March.

I know what you are saying and also tend to dislike it. But what is the difference between this and a loan? It's the same principle ... belong to one team and play temporarily for another.

Usually loans are different leagues and/or divisions. Not always, though.

Use the money on Maxmilian Beister and Penial Mlapa.

Let the young players rule the team. I think that should be the direction Gladbach should be heading towards

Like a Bundesliga version of Arsenal? At least we'll be making money from the transfer.

Perfect debut for our new signing, the 20y old Finnish national player Alex Ring (who speaks German perfectly & shares the room with our former darling Mika Forssell at the national team) in the BMG dress ... scoring 2 goals in yesterday's test match against Nuremberg. Not bad (especially, considering the fact that he had to play as left winger)! :)

(Igor missed a pk to score the 4:1 right before we conceded the 2:3)

Tonight, there's the so-called "Fan-Abend" (team & around 250 fans, who made the trip to Turkey, are hopefully gonna have a lot of fun).

PS: Here's a few impressions taken during today's training in Belek (Arango & Bobadilla obviously joined the team today, whereas Daems flew back home due to catching a flu last Friday).

Btw: German boulevard paper BILD alias BLÖD once again agitates against our club (do you remember what they did 3 years ago under Hans Meyer and also in former times?) by reporting that Lucien Favre was disappointed with Reus' & Neustädters' departments and would therefore leave us at the end of the season (allegedly, BLÖD knows it for sure). We have played the best season for many years ... and this shit paper is doing hard to create mood of doom among the fans.

Hopefully, the team won't get affected by this whole nonsense. The Rückrunde will be tough enough even without agitation...

Speaking from personal experience our history has shown ....finnish Danish and basically northern euro players normally turn into solid players at gladbach

That's true. Hopefully a good omen for Alex.

Btw: Watch out for this young guy (who played pretty well against Nuremberg).

Hugely talented midfielder à la Reus & Marin with a surely great future (same as Cigerci). Hopefully, he's gonna develop perfectly under Favre.

    Gute N8

PS: I just wonder what happened with our other talents Dowidat & Janeczeck? Hopefully, they won't join guys like Van den Bergh, Bäcker, Levels, Dorda (who left us for 2nd league clubs) etc.

Btw: Kachunga is leaving us on loan to VfL Osnabrück.

FYI, for any of my friends here who live near Fuerth, I won a pair of VIP tickets to the game vs Paderborn plus parking. Obviously, I cannot use them, but would hate to see them be wasted. Any interest?? Oddly enough, I saw the first leg of this duel when I was in Germany in August.

And how about " Oscar Wendt" I had high hopes for the guy,but so far it's been super quiet ...am not sure if favre just can't utilize him no matter what position or...he is a bust for us,which would be ridiculous considering his skills...he may not be dominant enough compared to PD but I can see him play in mid field with both offensive and defensive potential:rolleyes::confused:

Simply incredible that even a serious magazin like "Spiegel" is following "Bild" now.  Just read this bullshit (if you understand German).

Statement from our Sportdirektor Max Eberl:

It's quite obvious that parts of the German press (no idea who's behind this) has started a campaign against us in order to stir things (obviously we have been too successful lately). Hopefully we'll give the right answer on the pitch against Bayern Munich.

I also won a pair of Stehplatz tickets to FSV Frankfurt vs Ingolstadt the same weekend in Frankfurt. If there is any interest, let me know and I will mail them out.

Ken, as I told you earlier, I can't attend the game "Fürth vs Paderborn". Still no chance to find out Mr. Kissingers address? ;)

Btw: Here's the results of the big "Kicker" poll concerning the Vorrunde 2011/2012.

    http://www.kicker.de/news/fussball/...re-meinung---teil-2_traumnote-fuer-favre.html

Favre, Reus & MATS have been voted the BEST of the league (with incredible advantage over their rivals), whereas Max Eberl got 3rd. Congrats! :) Nearby we enjoyed an attendance home record (50,000) even without the (upcoming) sold-out home games vs Bayern, Schalke & Köln.

No wonder some jealous "forces" are trying hard (via the press) to stir things these days.

    Una bella serata.
