    Really...it's brilliant for the Krafts/MLS

    1. Kraft makes money on the sale of the franchise; even if they broke even over 15 years (don't buy a loss when you essentially turn on the lights paid for by Pats' profit and 12K show up). What did they pay in 1995? 2 million or so? Even a "small" $25 million pay off in 2013 ain't a bad return.
    2. MLS gets a real regional rivalry like Seattle/Portland, NJ/NYC2
    3. Kraft saves face keeping the future rights and can return a hero in 8-10 yrs with a city SSS.
    4. MLS saves face with their broadcast partners/image/future TV $

Plus - Selling 5k for AC Milan had to send real shockwaves through MLS. It could have been the last straw for real league action behind the scenes

Real. If not, it should be. It would be best for local/MLS/US soccer, sadly. :(

Amazing how much irrational argumentation can be sparked by a jokester sending a fecal filled e-mail to a Blog site;)

Well, as we all know Bob Kraft is a Savvy Businessman.

I keep remembering back to the times over the years you've repeatedly said you'd buy stock in the Revs if it was available. You'd have lost a lot of money by now.

Nope, it's incredibly hard to start from scratch.

The best thing would be Kraft selling majority share to a local owner group who is all about the soccer team. Funny how the email didn't mention that as a possibility. Must be an ego thing.

What "owner group" would that be? What individual or group of people would be all about the New England Revolution?

Well, I happen to think that the hoax E-mail served its purpose... 9 pages of reaction from very passionate Revs local fans and a handful of us beyond New England. That's a good thing!

    1. It won't happen... especially to Baltimore. WAY too close to DC.
    2. LA supports two MLS teams... but to the tune of only 30k COMBINED home attendance (2 Galaxy fans per Chivas fan)... don't use LA as a barometer of what could happen with NY2.
    3. Even though it won't happen, lots of better options: Atlanta (MLS always wanted a fresh start in the southeast), Minneapolis (read the fine print of the Vikings' new stadium deal with the state of MN... and don't think for a minute that Krafft doesn't have them on speed dial). I would wager that San Antonio has a better shot that Baltimore.
    4. If the Revs DO move, please change the name (and NOT to Tea Men).
    5. After paying ridiculous rent to SJ State, the Quakes headed for Houston, have since been replaced with new Quakes AND the replacement team is about to break ground on their SSS stadium... shovels in dirt in Oct '12.
    6. Someone dared to suggest that the Galaxy will move to Farmers Field... they won't (except for games expected to draw >30k), but two NFL teams will...

Technically that was done by the Governor General of Canada on behalf of the Queen, and the Governor General of Canada is rubber stamped by the Queen, but selected by the Prime Minister, and on those occasions the dissolution was done at the Prime Minister's request.

Not exactly an act of supreme executive power deriving from divine mandate.

Well, it was. The Queen need not act on the advice of her ministers, nor can the Governor General act in a manner opposed by Her Majesty.

The fact that she does only act in the way Parliament prescribes is solely to keep the Tim Horton's drinking masses in their delussions about democracy

Strange women lying in ponds distributing swords is no basis for a system of government. Supreme executive power derives from a mandate from the masses, not from some farcical aquatic ceremony.

I was going to say "let's bring this back to topic" ... but since the topic really doesn't exist, go ahead. This is fun to read. Plus making fun of Canada is always a good thing.
