Really? He's having a tough time nailing down a starting spot in Serie B.. It might be better if they don't get promoted this year.
It might be better if he just went to another team in Italy. Italy is a great place for a central midfielder to learn/ply his trade, but Szetela has a confusing situation at Brescia. If it wasn't for guys like Adu, Beasley, Edu, and Pearce having even weirder ones, then Szetela's situation would get a lot more attention. How does he start half the time, sit the bench part of the time, and not even make the bench on occasion? Hopefully he can interest someone in Serie A to pick him up.
You don't just waltz into a central midfield position in Serie A- arguably the best league for that position. He's got to earn his stripes. Here's a nice recent article on Danny . I thought Danny's mother played a part in him NOT going to Everton all those years ago.
Oh I know, but that's hard to do with his on again-off again status with the first team. I'm not saying anyone in Serie A is going to pony up some cash to get him, but I'm hoping someone will take a chance on him, because I'm tired of one of our best central midfield prospects playing in a weak second tier league in Europe.
You are underestimating Danny. Just like many people have doubted Clint, Landon, Michael, Damarcus, and on and on and on and on.
Brescia uses a rotating system with its players. Nskero, highly rated young striker that wend to West Ham in the transfer window, was subject to the same thing. Brescia's coach just believes in rotating the lineup. Guys like Roy at Fulham have their starting 11 and are hell bent on it. From what ive seen Danny sometimes starts, sometimes is subbed in, and is sometimes not on the gameday roster an equal amount of time. for a young player like him its not a bad thing.
Hehe, I love how "Michael" just slipped in there. A week ago, he wouldn't have been on that tier with those 3 in the collective minds of BS posters...
Considering he scored 15 goals or something last season in a solid European league, he deserved to be, even before his performance against Mexico.
