Like you, I'm unfamiliar with most of the clubs listed above. However, I remember when FC Wettingen were in the NLA back in the early 80's. My, how times change! Unfortunately, the English Premier League remains pretty much the same every year. I'd like to see Man Utd (for example) to be playing in the 'Conference North'.....but I don't suppose that will ever happen.
it's even better as stade de Colovray belongs to UEFA afaik. and it's just on the other side of the street of the UEFA building, so Sions supporters surely will think about some action(s)

Cup games this weekend: Stade de Nyon - FC Sion // FC Sion -1.25 @1.74 Sion is playing on homeground. Nyon asked to switch the stadium because it would be too expensive to guarantee safety. Nyon in downtrend and Sion 1 class above Nyon. Yverdon - Servette // Servette -1.25 @1.83 Servette 2 classes above Yverdon. Servette struggled last game against a same team as Yverdon. played 1:1 but won after overtime 1:4. This time, make everything sure earlier. Malley - Bellinzona // Bellinzona win @1.40 Malley in the 1st Division while Bellinzona in the Challenge league. (1 class above). Malley fighting against the relegation in the 1st division. FC Aarau - FC Zürich // over 3 @ 1.94 Aarau with lots of confidents. Zürich is in a very bad form right now. Also, they are struggling every time against Aarau. In the pre-season games this game finished 3:3. Both teams are stronger in attack than defending. Sc Kriens - Xamax // SC Kriens DNB (Draw no bet) @4.33 Troubles in Xamax. They didn't get the money for August in time. Salary for September still outstanding for all 80 employees. They are minimum 1 class better but because of this troubles in the team and the very very bad performance in the 1st round of this cup I'm going to risk very small money on DNB Kriens
Zurich can use the Aarau match to get back on track... on Sunday, GC could struggle at Chiasso and St.Gallen will give Thun a hard fight and Thun is about to lose a bit of their early-season shape
Xamax and Thun out, Lugano as well Bellinzona almost lost at Malley next round: Wil – Basel St. Gallen – Zürich Kriens – Grasshoppers Winterthur – Young Boys Biel – Servette Bellinzona – Lausanne Tuggen – Sion Wohlen – Luzern
November 26 FT Tuggen 1 - 2 Sion FT Bellinzona 0 - 4 Lausanne Sports AET Wil 2 - 3 Basel November 27 FT Biel-Bienne 3 - 0 Servette FT St. Gallen 4 - 2 Zurich Pen. Kriens 2 - 2 Grasshoppers * Pen. Winterthur * 1 - 1 Young Boys Bern FT Wohlen 1 - 2 Lucerne Weekend to forget for Servette, YB, FCZ.
J. Alves fired as Servette coach and already replaced by JC Pereira - bad decision in my eyes. You don't fire a good coach to replace him with a worse coach... then, J.Alves had a lot of support in the teams and among the fans reminds me a bit of the Schällibaum-Aeby story or Favre-Morinini or Castella-Exbrayat
20 March 2012 FC Luzern 20:00 Grasshoppers Zürich 21 March 2012 FC Winterthur 19:30 FC St. Gallen FC Basel 19:45 FC Lausanne-Sport FC Biel-Bienne 20:15 FC Sion
March 20 20:15 Lucerne ? - ? Grasshoppers March 21 19:30 Winterthur ? - ? St. Gallen 19:45 Basel ? - ? Lausanne Sports 20:15 Biel-Bienne ? - ? Sion FCL must be the favorite in their tie. Basel still the big favorite, with FCSG or Sion next.
hope, the bigger teams pass... I like to see underdogs winning from time to time, but not so much in the swiss cup as I want a good team to represent us in the European cups, so nothing against Lucerne, Basel, Sion and St.Gallen passing into next round. St.Gallen will be in the SL next season. For Sion it's the only chance to get in the European cups.
March 20 FT Lucerne 3 - 0 Grasshoppers March 21 Pen. Winterthur * 2 - 2 St. Gallen FT Basel 5 - 2 Lausanne Sports FT Biel-Bienne 1 - 3 Sion Two surpises, FCSG not winning and LS scoring twice against Basel.
One instance of problem at the FCL-GCZ match After GCZ lost, fans threw stones at police officers. About 200 crowded streets and the police had to use water cannons to get the people moving. There was an estimated 20,000 CHF of damage, mostly windows.
Sion vs Lucerne tonight, the other match over the weekend as Basel would have played Xamax in the next ASL round
