Allsvenskan 2012 round 1 (not complete)

    Syrianska FC–IFK Göteborg 2–1 (0–1)

    0–1 Daniel Sobralense (17), 1–1 Sharbel Touma (52), 2–1 Admir Aganovic (54).
yellow cards, Syrianska FC: Haris Skenderovic, Louay Chanko. IFK Göteborg: Philip Haglund, Tobias Sana.
    referee: Stefan Johannesson, Stocksund.
    attendance: 4 451.
Syrianska FC (4–5–1): Dwayne Miller – Suleyman Sleyman (Alessandro Silva Pereira 46), Haris Skenderovic, Rabi Elia, Gabriel, Somi – Sharbel Touma, Johan Arneng, Dinko Felic, Louay Chanko, Yussuf Saleh (Lawal Ismail 36) – Admir Aganovic (Alexander Michel 68).
IFK Göteborg: (4–4–2): John Alvbåge – Emil Salomonsson, Kjetil Waehler, Hjalmar Jonsson, Erik Lund (Tobias Sana 82) – Stefan Selakovic (Hannes Stiller 72), Pontus Farnerud, Philip Haglund, Nordin Gerzic (Robin Söder 60) – Daniel Sobralense, Tobias Hysén

Close to 1000 Angel-fans had travelled to the outskirts of the Capital to witness an expected win for the favourites.
And yes it all started well for the Blue and Whites. Two new signings created the leading goal to 1-0 at Södertälje Arena. Right back Salomonsson crossed over to the erratic offensive midfielder Sobralense who waited inside the box. A perfect header finnishing the job off. He ran over to celebrate with the happy faces at the away terraces.
The homeside had dominated ballposession slightly up until then also creating a few decent chances. They did so too after the early goal let through. But the 0-1 result was to stand all the way to half-time.
Syrianska were to shock the visitors early on in the 2nd half as they turned the match around. Sharbel Touma was servved the ball inside the box scoring on the return coming out to him. Aganovic 2 minutes later scored 2-1 to the utter delight of the fanatic Suryoye fans. The goal was primarily the result of reserve choice in left defense Erik Lund giving the ball on a silverplate to the assister of the goal.
One of the bigdogs had lost the opening match. The underdogs and tipped to be relegated by many namely Syrianska, had produced the biggest upset thus far into the first round of Allsvenskan 2012. Ladies and gents, this is Allsvenskan at its core....

    AIK–Mjällby 0–0

yellow cards, AIK: Martin Lorentzson, Nils–Eric Johansson. Mjällby: Daniel Ivanovski.
    referee: Michael Lerjéus, Skövde.
    attendance: 20 557.
AIK (4–4–2): Ivan Turina – Martin Lorentzson, Niklas Backman, Alexander Milosevic, Nils–Eric Johansson – Lalawélé Atakora, Helgi Danielsson, Daniel Tjernström (Robin Quaison 76), Martin Kayongo Mutumba (Alhassan Kamara 81) – Gabriel Özkan (Viktor Lundberg 56), Celso Borges.
Mjällby (4–4–2): Mattias Asper – Daniel Ivanovski, Anders Wikström, Patrik Rosengren, William Leandersson – Haris Radetinac, Dominique Kivuvu, Daniel Nilsson, Daniel Nicklasson (Simon NIlsson 78) – Erton Fejzullahu, Marcus Ekenberg (Pär Ericsson 72)

The mighty Gnaget of Northern Stockholm failed to secure the 3 points at classical Råsunda in front of some of Northern Europes most fanatical supporter groups.
During pre-season many in swedish football had raised some doubts concerning the strength of the AIK attack as the goals hadn´t been coming in a steady stream to say the least. The opener against tiny Mjällby was a continuation of this pattern as the match ends 0-0.
Mjällby defenders such as veteran Rosengren and Wikström somewhat surprisingly had star attacker Celso Borges covered all through the game. Feyzulahu looked alert in the MAIF attack at the same time. The frustration wore on amongst the AIK faithful as MAIF probably edged it in the first half!? The feeling, despite a less than inspiring goal fabrication, would be that the huge club from the Capital ought to dominate in the scoring department in such a game. Sure AIK had a lot of passes strung together all through as the ballposession favoured them. But still....
A consolation for the Mighty Blacks might be that their boys afterall snatched a point in contrast to their main historical rivals Djurgården and IFK Göteborg. And also, Borges showed his potential every now and then. He´ll wake up soon, I´m sure. And they will need him to do so.....Another factor that will eventually raise AIK to another level is their absolutely extraordinary fans.

    GIF Sundsvall-Kalmar

    0-1 (0-0)
    0-1 Daniel Mendes (54).
sending off, Gif Sundsvall: Johan Eklund.
yellow cards, Kalmar FF: Jonathan McDonald, Ludvig Öhman, Henrik Rydström.
    referee: Martin Strömbergsson, Gävle.
    attendance: 5 836.
Gif Sundsvall (4-5-1): Oscar Berglund - Fredric Jonson (Christian Brink 82), Marcus Danielson, Stefan Ålander, David Myrestam - Daniel Sliper (Pa Dibba 65), Kevin Walker, Fredrik Holster, Ari Freyr Skulason, Emil Forsberg - Johan Eklund.
Kalmar FF (4-4-2): Etrit Berisha - Emin Nouri, Paulus Arajuuri, Ludvig Öhman, Jörgen Skjelvik - Måns Söderqvist (Kristoffer Fagercrantz 69), Henrik Rydström, Erik Israelsson, Johan Bertilsson (Markus Thorbjörnsson 84) - Daniel Mendes, Jonathan McDonald (Abiola Dauda 77

Kalmar surprisingly were slightly pegged backwards into their own half by an energetic Sundsvall outfit spurred on by a small but vocal support at Norrporten Arena in the third largest City of Norrland.
The two optimistic, quick and intelligent midfielders for the homeside Skulason and Forsberg were the ones dominating especially early on in the first half. Attacker Johan Eklund had a very good chance after a few minutes but alert KFF goalie Berisha saved athe goal-line for the Reds.
Kalmar had very little to show for in the first half except attcker Mendes´ weak header.
The same player though were to become the hero of the day for the visitors as Emin Nouri found him with a throw-in. The brazialian´s shot were unstoppable for home-keeper Oscar Berglund. Despite the sending of off Eklund Sundsvall tlate on had a magnificant chance to equalize but failed to the delight of the small contingent of Kalmar supporters. Boy oh boy didn´t they travell quite some distance....?! Kudos to them!

    Gais-Häcken
    0-0
    yellow cards, Gais: Wanderson.
Häcken: Oscar Lewicki, Mohammed Ali Khan, Tom Söderberg.
    referee: Markus Strömbergsson, Gävle.
    attendance: 9 561.
Gais (4-4-2): Henri Sillanpää - Richard Ekunde, Calum Angus, Erik Johansson, Kenneth Gustafsson - Jakob Olsson (Peter Ijeh 57), Romario Pereira (Markus Gustafsson 58), Rueben Ayarna, Mervan Celik - Eric Bassombeng, Wanderson.
Häcken (4-5-1): Christoffer Källqvist - Daniel Forsell, Mattias Östberg, Mohammed Ali Khan, Kari Arkivuo (Tom Söderberg 46) - Björn Anklev, Martin Ericsson (Dominic Chatto 77), Andreas Drugge (Dioh Williams 64), Oscar Lewicki, René Makondele - Waris Majeed

Both the sides dominated a half each. Häcken had controll in the first half with their attack pressing forward a lot. Especially centrally through Majeed Waris which tested the GAIS defense. Best chance before half-time though came when Anklev found the post with his shot. GAIS a bit surprisingly had placed the two new signings Aubynn and Ijeh on the bench. The guy returning to the club Mervan Celik had a few fine runs on the left flank but GAIS couldn´t really produce the big-time chances towards goal before half-time.
Not a lot of chances in the 2nd half but GAIS started to dominate posession more an more. The match was a decent one with good tempo, hard faught battles in midfield, offensive intentions and defensive enganged work. GAIS´Erik Johansson had his header swept away from the goal line after 79 minutes gone. Wanderson missed his opportunity a while later, assisted by Celik. Pete Ijeh substituted into the game had a shot far above the crossbar 1 minute from full time. The two Gothenburg clubs shared the spoils brotherly.....

    Elfsborg-Djurgården 2-1((2-0))
    1-0 Anders Svensson (23), 2-0 Anders Svensson (45), 2-1 Marc Pedersen (67).
yellow cards, Elfsborg: Stefan Ishizaki, Andreas Klarström, Johan Larsson. Djurgården: Daniel Sjölund, Kebba Ceesay.
    referee: Martin Hansson, Holmsjö.
    attendance: 13 673

The Djurgården supporters did what they were supposed to. That is travel in big chunks. A couple of thousands of cocky, loud and expectant stockholmers flooded the Western inland city of Borås. Their heroes and boys on the pitch almost did everything right.....except getting the points.
They had ball-posession. Balls were flying onto the framework of the goal on numerous of occasions. And those balls which wasn´t, agonizingly was saved by the Norwegian goalie Höje with only 4 matches in 8 months under his belt. The guy was absolutely unbelievable between the posts as he himself after the game stated, played the game of his life. Despite having a westerly sun burning his eyes in the first half in some incredible fashion still knew were the balls came.
Instead veteran midfielder Anders Svensson could open the scoring for the Guliganer to cheer in the stands. he then increased it to 2-0 in the dying seconds of the first half. The same guy said at half-time that his opponents were absolutely robbed after the first 45 minutes being down 2 and dominating thoroughly.
DIF´s Marc Pedersen made it less irritating for the Järnkaminer as he equalized on the corner after 67 minutes. It wasn´t to be though. But their fans shall be very proud of their own contribution in the stands. They kept on singing and dansing despite the frustrating scenario down there on the pitch. The Guliganer fans will have to find some new special made chants for that Norwegian cheetah.....

Haha, that photo is so much AIK as it can get :)

My sunday started out well, with heavy and focused consumtion of alcoholic beverages in Black Army Stockholms club house in Solna. The boys had been at it all weekend, and the bar had been open 24/7 since friday.

A freezing gust in Solna did not harm the tension in the air, and there was a feeling of anticipation in our beloved suburb. Thousands and thousands of supporters were there to greet our arriving players, and an impressive 20500 fans found their seats at Råsunda Stadion.

The game was very, very dull and AIK sadly enough did nothing to impress us. AIK are historically weak during premiere games, and this was no exception. 0-0 versus a hardly interesting opponent, on a freezing terrace is something we AIK fanatics are all too familiar with. I am quite worried about this season, and for some reason the club management have decided to let promising offender Kwame Karikari go to another club temporarily - a very strange decision if you ask me. During the pre-season games Kwame was one of the few players that showed great potential. I hope they know what the ******** they are doing.

On the brighter side, we moved on to the pub afterwards and warmed up our frozen bodies by seing AIK Hockey perform a superb game vs. copycat team Skellefteå. Electric tension and the roar of blood-crazed AIK fans echoed through the Stockholm night.

All in all a fantastic display of supporter culture, a football dissapointment but still a good end of the "double sunday".

At this moment, the thought of facing arch-enemy DIF is not pleasant at all.

Thanks for sharing your true feelings during that jammed packed AIK day. And it certainly ended well as your hockey team won their match. Fantastic support for your AIK both in the football game and the hockey game. Please continue with your AIK chronicle all through the season. Would be lovely. For me as an IFK supporter it is truely fascinating to get an insight in the life of a supporter of a rivaling team.

The Djurgården Ultras impressed immensely in Borås. Unluckily for them and the DIF fans at Bigsoccer their players didn´t produce any points. They certainly deserved to win the game.

Thanks for your fantastic pics and videos. We are greatful Stefan!

Yes indeed Ryan. The difference between our sides though is that DIF deserved to win against IFE. Göteborg didn´t. DIF played well. IFK played decent in the first half and aweful in the 2nd half.

Here are the games completing this the first round of the Swedish Allsvenskan 2012. As we can witness, the surprise keeps on coming:

    League standings:

    http://svenskfotboll.se/allsvenskan/tabell-och-resultat/

Norrköping we mentioned were indeed potentially a dangerous opponent and they win comfortably in the end. They actually deserved a bigger win margine according to the reports.

We also knew that Gefle is a tough side to break down defensively. Malmö failed to win at home.

I thaught Örebro would snatch a narrow win at home against newcomers Åtvidaberg. Must be irritating for the Kubanerfans?!

This is basically the weakness in many ways of Allsvenskan. Clubs like AIK, IFK and Malmö should be able to win their matches if we look at their rosters. Helsingborg though has a very tricky and respectful opponent away to Norrköping. Djurgården shows that they will most probably be a threat to most opponents. They impressed a lot indeed. Elfsborg´s Svensson and Höie saved their asses as they escaped luckily.....

From the games I watched in the first round Djurgården and IFK Norrköping impressed me the most. So far I feel correct in putting them in the upper half of the table in my prediction :) I still don't understand why Norrköping kept Hassan as their goalkeeper though and got rid of Westberg.

The AIK game was really dire, they just couldn't create anything going forward whatsoever and Mjällby was of course happy to get the one point away. There will be many 0-0 games for AIK this season unless Borges raises his quality a couple of levels compared to this game when he gets back to full match fitness.

Syrianska and Åtvidaberg both got very good results in their first game but I think that in the long run they will suffer from having too weak defences. Syrianskas new forward Aganovic looked alright and together with late signing George Mourad I think they've managed to improve their attack compared to last year.

I didn't watch GAIS - BK Häcken, GIF Sundsvall - Kalmar FF and Malmö FF - Gefle IF, so I can't comment on those games.

For the Djurgardens Fans among us.

To conclude this weekend when it comes to ultra support I must say I'm really impressed. It seems to me that the numbers of fanatic fans are growing?? Can anyone inside one of the supporter groups confirm this, or tell me that I'm wrong :p Looking to Djurgardens: Impressive away support that far away from Stockholm. IFK Göteborg also a huge crowd away. But also for the home playing teams. AIK with a great tifo as usual I would say, and a huge crowd walking in the Corteo before the match..The same with Malmö FF. Big numbers in the corteo as well.. We knew that the above mentioned clubs have great support but it seems to me that the Swedish fans are being more fanatic? Is this just because it's the first round or what:p

Also a great tifo by small player Norrköping. And GAIS also had a great amount of fans in the corteo and a nice tifo.

The fans that dissapointed me a bit were those of Helsingborgs, and örebro. Maybe I missed something but I've seen better tifo's and numbers with these clubs!

Yes that's really a shame. But in the coming weeks the players can prove that this was just a hick-up in the first competition round. They must win the upcoming matches!

ifkgötet: It might be that it's the first round, but I hope we see a new trend in greater numbers. As I said earlier, a lot of campaign work have been done by AIK supporters to really drag people to the arena this year, that might have something to do with it (at least in our case). DIF supporters also campaign their last year on Stockholm Stadion, albeit in a slightly smaller scale. I think they have been doing quite good, and they managed to reach their goal of sold season tickets.

    The talk of the day:

AIK forward "Crespo" was injured yesterday in a U21-game vs. Gefle. After a duel with a Gefle defender Crespo fell to the ground and became unconscious for over ten minutes. He had to go by ambulance to hospital, so it is really serious. I wish for a swift return. AIK can NOT afford to lose a promising forward at this point - we've allready witnessed the weakness in our offense.

AIK recommends their supporters not to go to Södertälje for the game vs. Syrianska FC. This recommendation is because of the unfortunate events last year where bangers were thrown onto the field. AIK and their supporter groups still feel that we were wrongfully sentenced by the diciplinary board of the FA, and have decided that we can not be responsible for the security on the arena. I support this decision wholeheartedly. SFC officials are furious, calling AIK's recommendation "outrageous".

Looking forward to face off IFK Göteborg next week on thursday. AIK-IFK is always a high interest game, with lot's of rivalry and most likely a huge crowd.

ifkgötet: welcome to the Solna gauntlet! :)

Thanks AIK_Stockholm for all the info: I think the Ultras question was raised by Afca_Mokum and can ve redirected to him:).

But yes, I do agree with you that the feeling is that it was a great start to the season made by the Ultras! All the bigger clubs had their fans coming out in great style indeed! And not very surprisingly the biggest City with most fans impressed the most as well (AIK and DIF). AIK I think showed clearly that they are the biggest club in Sweden. 20500 something against a tiny and rather "boring" opponent in Mjällby. The AIK chorea was as always highclass!:)

I really hope it´s going well for Crespo and that he´ll return to play as soon as possible. One almost got flashbacks to that Muamba guy at Bolton!:(

The decision made by AIK and their call for the fans not to officially be represented at the SFC game is intelligent and only the right thing to do in light of what happened last year but especially considering the evidently poor standard of security at Södertälje Arena. The reaction then coming from the SFC officials just shows what a naive club we´re talking about here. I meen their club is run very amateurishly right through so the reaction from the them doesn´t exactly surprise us! It is they who are outrageous!

Yes, for us IFK supporters that AIK game obviously is one of the highlights of the year. I hope for a respectful and entertaining match. My hopes of IFK aren´t skye high at the moment after our humiliation at the hands of SFC. We played decent in the first half and aweful in the second. As I thought before hand, we would indeed have initial problems organizing the team with all those new players and totally new tactical structure as well. I am nervous that Borges will start to come into form to that IFK game and AIK are off course favourites in that game despite your recent problems scoring.

I´m looking forward to further chronicles by You sir regarding AIK this year. The first one you did was fantastic and reminded me of the kind of passion we can witness at very few places in northern Europe!

Yes, Afca_Mokum! You are spot on regarding the Ultras and thanks for your work on the swedish ultras scene. We are greatful and we certainly look forward to the continuing work from You as alway!

Firstlt AIK who play their last season at Råsunda. Although you and I are rivaling supporters to them we must be thoroughly impressed by the massive passion showed by them. 20 500 passionate AIK fans in a game against tiny and quite frankly (for me at least) boring Mjällby. The annual welcome they give to the AIK players as they near the arena before the game is out of this world. A great tradition! Nice choreo and and nice support but unfortunately for them the boys on the pitch couldn´t reach anyway near the same level. AIK the biggest club in Sweden in many ways no doubt.

Secondly Djurgården. From what I hear there were around 1000 of them standing outside the Arena, behind their mates away stands throughout the match. All in all I hear numbers of several thousands of them. Amazing! Now remember that we are probably talking about 500 km in distance between those two cities and so we get the perspective on things. Your wonderful videos and pics show us the unbelievable numbers of away supporters. Guliganer fans were hardly heared inside their own arena.

IFK fans traveled in big hords as well. I hear of numbers of around the 1500 mark. Which is good considering the less than sexy opponents and venue. The support to the coming Norrköping game at home will be strong I hope. I am a bit concerend about meeting Norrk. though as they impressed a lot against Helsingborg! Interesting fixture.

You mention Malmö. It doesn´t come as a surprise that they deliver at a high level either! Their Ultras group is not far off of AIK`s. Always they deliver great choreos. This time a seas of flags! Beautiful video Stefan. Thanks! I love how all the clubs have their hymns played as the players walks onto the pitch!

Yes, Norrköping and GAIS also did support their team greately. Both those ultra groups are as you´ve mentioned before small but tightly nitted groups. They also seem to raise their level compared to last season.
The "Peking-fans" of Norrköping represents a classical club in swedish football. Th region itself is rather populous and so there is definatly some potential for these ultras to grow.

I must say that I like the Helsingborg hymn for some reason. But considering the recent success of their team you´d expect more from them. But let us remember that Helsingborg is a medium large town a bit like Borås and they tend to attract around 10 000 nomatter what match. It is a very populous region though probably most of northern Scania roots for them. The HIF fans reminds of GAIS a bit with a rather small but tight and decent vocals. Yes, we expect more tifo-wise ain the first round from them.

Örebro are a growing group of ultras no doubt. The town itself is an expanding city and it shows also in their ultras support. We have to remember that they met one of the least interesting opponents Åtvidaberg and perhaps that´s why we didn´t see a greater attendance....
