I got promoted to D IV this season...YEAH!!!:D

I look like the weakest team in the division...BOOO:(

Any tips for staying up and avoiding relegation would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance...

How much cash do you have on hand?

Do you have any trainees that you're planning to sell in the near term, and if so, how much can you get for them?

Are there any areas where you're competitive with the existing teams, or are you behind across the board?

Yup wouldn't mind looking over your team and giving you an idea of what to shoot for. My first few stints in IV lasted longer than they should've thanks to me stealing points against stronger competition, so I'd be glad to help.

Don't spend more money than you have.

Try to upgrade your team when you have the funds.

Thanks for all the offers. To answer the questions...

    1. I don't have much cash just now. I bought an extraterrestrial inside midfielder for the $1/2 M I had in the bank at the end of the season.

    2. I have a younger winger that should pop to magnificent with another week of training. Money in the bank and I won't sell him until I absolutely have to. I should be able to get close to $1M for him.

    3. Based on hatstats and loddar, I'd say I am close to, but still behind, the pack. Average hatstats from last season for this group range from 249 - 189, loddar from 20.24 to 12.80. I am the bottom number in each group, but that is average over the whole season, so I have posted better numbers.

    4. I am going to Div IV.46 and I am Bristol County.

    Thanks again for your advice.

Ok, it looks like your best chance is to beat Illini Prophets and Blood Dmess.

You have Blood dmess at home the first game so that is good. he has a very weak central attack and does not play AOW. I would make sure you win midfield and cover his attack with your defense.

With Illini you will definately win midfield but he averages 100 Hs on his defense. Stack your d on his one good wing attack and play to your strengths.

My strategy would be to play PIC on the 5 teams you don't want to beat, normal or MOTS all 4 against these guys.

If you see a chance to get points from one of the top five, (Injuries, Red Card, etc.) go for it.

It's hard to go wrong upgrading in the midfield as long as you can afford the salary.

Unless he's too old, your sweet spot for selling him is probably the beginning of next season.

If you want to sacrifice the training to try to stay up, you might be able to get more mileage out of selling this player and buying a young IM with passable or solid winger to turn into an uber-trainee. IMO this only pays off if you also have an offensive winger in the outstanding or higher range to play opposite him AND you aren't already working an uberwinger trainee (although, depending on existing uberwinger trainee skills, you might still want one with higher PM).

I'm not recommending that you sacrifice the training -- in fact, it's probably not something I would do myself -- I'm just saying that if you decide that's something you want to do, there's a potential upgrade route there.

Avg hatstats and loddar are useful, but it's also helpful to know how your component ratings work, i.e. how you stack up on defense, in midfield, at forward.

Also best advice, try to defend homefield. If you can't you're done for. Try to go above .500 at home and steal points you can on the road.
