There are many reasons for that, one could be the 10 different drum beats we have.

I honestly don't see the point in NOT trying. If we don't get it right; keep on doing it until it does get done. Thats one problem we have, we try once-sometimes not at all, and we give up. Keep pushing and trying. No more excuses.

    But thats just my $.02

I'll say this on here... again.
    FnKeep has a point
    Teddy you have a point.
But if you want chants to succeed you need to start simple.
Why does your a b@stard referee work? Simplicity.
    What about yellow team sucks?....Simplicity
What about sound guy rocks?... drunk guy yelling it over and over again until people were forced to join in to shut him up... or simplicity.
One voice carries better than 45 at different times.
Focus the energy through one simple chant and when people hear it they will be more likely to join in.

I agree, simple-good chants. But I would like to see one or two other ones added, the same chants over and over get anyoing. So mix it up every once and a while. Hopefully we can add a megaphone to the section, to where we can have one loud voice-and the rest can follow....

But dude... Three stanzas of lyrics?
Talk to the cheerleaders at your school.. or talk to the cheerleader instuctors... you don't get groups of people to sing three stanzas of lyrics with the exception of National Anthems and chrismas carols, and even those are pushing it.

I agree that new chants are great, but come up with new chants or modify popular ones, but I don't even think Section 8 or the screaming eagels could pull off three stanzas of song lyrics.

It was a suggestion, if you listen to the Seven Nation Army song/chant they only use certain words. Or go to the rythm of the song. Maybe even sing just one stanza. You don't need to go off for every word.

I get sick of the Wings of a Sparrow and Colorado Rapids chant, all I am trying to bring up is the fact we need more chants. I would like for more people to come out and bring more chant and song suggestions. But no one does. If we can collectivley come up with something, it would be better for the entire group...

Start with hiogh school cheers and modify them.
For the most part people can only remember 3 lines before they start trailing... and at that they can only sing in two octaves.

Talk to your friends in Sams army and the outlaws(is that right?) they should have song sheets. Modify those.

I look at it this way, if you can come up with some poppy-high school type chants and cheers then you can get the younger crowd around you into it too.
This will force the hard drinking, I would love to really be a slut, out of the soccer mom a section over and get her chanting too. She might even forgive an F-bomb that she hears every now and then.
Also, you get the group used to harmonizing. They get used to being one voice.

And think of it this way when it comes to chats. If you think your drunk cosin could do it, then perhapse 1/2 of the people you want to do the chant might be able to jump in.

Getting chants going is harder than teaching high school. You have to write your lesson for the lowest common denomenator, then subtract 1000. But if you can get the drunk people to sing, then you might have something going. ;)

I don't disagree with your point, but after spending MLS Cup with the Revs fans, yeah, the bigger groups can pull off three stanzas. I took a copy of their song sheet, modified some of them, and posted them over on the CVI/C-Firm board for people to take a look at. Call them a goal to work towards. ;)

I think this is a very simple chant. It would go well with FSL, and both groups can do it. Maybe even get the entire stadium to stand up and chant it {I know thats asking for too much but its worth a try}.

when i was at the fulham game a week and a half ago i noticed a few things
1 their version of th C-firm sits in the back tippy top of the stands right behind the goal.
    2. there chants were very short. even the Come on Fulham, it only lasted 20-30seconds if that
    3. Everyone in the stadium knew most of the chants and songs because they were short and simple

Nice is beautiful BTW..... i dont really want to leave!

Alright guys, heres what I am thinking. All of us C-Firmers make/shred confetti for next season. So we have plenty by time the season rolls around. As for me-I am buying streamers every week until opening day. About $20 worth at Hobby Lobby each week. They have the best deal 3 for $1. So by time we play the Galaxy I should have well over 1,000+ streamers. I would encourage all to do the same, or at least buy $5 each week.

I say why not throw them on the field. The ball kids can pick them up after corners and goals. O wait----->they can't even do their regular job....:D:cool:

I know we don't have anywhere near enough with CVI and CF combined. But we should try this this upcoming season for a game in SL....

Well we were ranked in a blog here is where the "Front Range" stood in the list of 14....

I think this year people are going to be surpirsed by what we are holding in. I cannot wait for opening day, remember it about supporting the players and CREATING an atmosphere. This year you will see a monster unleashed....

If we can shed the "Front Range" shackles, that should move us up 1 place on it's own. Is there even an FR this year? Since we're moving to 100, first two games aside, we should somehow formally denounce any affiliation with FR (if it still exists).

Just my two cents -- 44-ish days and counting!

From what I know the "Front Range" deal is no longer avaiable. They will be soon removing it off their website. At least thats what they told me. I think the FO knows since we are moving to 100 that we are no longer part of their "official" Supporters Group....
