May 1 19:45 Young Boys Bern ? - ? Zurich May 2 19:45 Basel ? - ? Thun 19:45 Grasshoppers ? - ? Servette 20:15 Lausanne Sports ? - ? Sion
Servette had 5mio out of 8mio together before the weekend... so this week, Servette needs at least another 3mio to get out of debts the papers for requesting the licence for next season have been sent already today or yesterday, tough
YB vs Zürich tonight or Piserchia vs Meier YB needs a reaction after Gross got sacked. With their squad they should be just behind Basel and not in trouble fighting for a EL spot Zurich should have been in the race before the winter break. They still have the better squad than Thun or Servette, but they need points as well. And they would need victories in the direct confrontations with Servette and Thun later on Basel vs Thun tomorrow Challandes is staying another season. Basel are already champions. The questions are more who is staying and who is leaving. Who are we playing against in the CL qualification and in which round. Who is going to the olympics. At Thun, after Challandes has decided to stay, they fight for a EL spot and shouldn't be underestimated. GC vs Servette tomorrow. GC needs one more point to be safe. Afterwards they play vs Basel and local rivals Zurich yet as well as vs Sion and Lausanne. You never know what happens if the lose to Servette... Servette needs points in this so crucial week to stay in the fight for a EL spot. However, the most important is to have 3mio CHF coming in this week to get out of the bankruptcy procedure before the license is rejected in 2nd instance. Lausanne vs Sion tomorrow. if Lausanne wins, Sion will have to go in the playout. Anyway, if Sion wants a last chance they have to win. First match for Courbis. But Sion needs 12 points out of their last 4 matches including a victory at YB to have a little chance as Lausanne will receive GC in the last round. theoretically, a 26-26-26 situation with Sion, GC and Lausanne would be possible yet but only if Sion wins the 4 remaining matches, GC loses the 5 remaining matches and Lausanne only wins vs GC, but loses to Sion, Servette and Lucerne.
May 1 FT Young Boys Bern 1 - 0 Zurich May 2 FT Basel 2 - 1 Thun FT Grasshoppers 0 - 3 Servette FT Lausanne Sports 1 - 0 Sion Big wins for Servette and LS. LS avoids the playoffs, and Servette moves ahead of Thun by 2 points. May 5 19:45 Young Boys Bern ? - ? Lucerne May 6 16:00 Servette ? - ? Lausanne Sports 16:00 Sion ? - ? Grasshoppers 16:00 Zurich ? - ? Basel Servette could move 5 points clear of Thun with a win at home in the Leman Derby. YB and Luzern should be good, how good it will be is not clear.
Basel will have to enter the 2nd round of the CL qualification next season and could face Molde or the Bulgarian champs in the worst case (only if CSKA isn't champion) the fight for the 4th EL spot between Servette, Thun and Zurich will be decided probably in the direct confrontations and hopefully not at the CAS or another court it's 41, 39, 35 for Servette currently, but Zurich has one match less and Servette has the worst goal average. Besides, Zurich is yet playing both Thun and Servette and have it in their hands. I think 46 points might be needed, so either two victories or a victory vs Lausanne and draws vs Zurich and Basel. we have Servette-Lausanne Zurich-Basel Thun-YB Zurich-Servette GCZ-Zurich Servette-Basel Lucerne-Thun Thun-Zurich
a good round for Thun who didn't play... YB did not win, Zurich lost and Servette drew... so, it's now YB 44, Servette 42, Thun 39 and Zurich 35. YB is playing: Thun (a), Sion (h), Basel (a) Servette is playing: Zurich (a), Basel (h) Thun is playing: YB (h), Lucerne (a), Zurich (h) Zurich is playing: Servette (h), GC (a), Thun (a) YB should still finish 3rd if Zurich doesn't win vs Servette, they're off the race, but if Zurich wins the remaining 3 matches, then they have good chances to be 4th. Thun currently has the best cards to finish 4th
May 5 FT Young Boys Bern 2 - 2 Lucerne May 6 FT Servette 0 - 0 Lausanne Sports FT Sion 3 - 2 Grasshoppers FT Zurich 1 - 5 Basel Servette missed a great opportunity, and will in my guess end up 5th. They have two difficult matches ahead, at Zurich and home to Basel.
May 12 17:45 Basel ? - ? Grasshoppers 17:45 Lucerne ? - ? Lausanne Sports May 13 16:00 Thun ? - ? Young Boys Bern 16:00 Zurich ? - ? Servette Big matches for Servette at Zurich, and Thun at home to YB.
This will be Leoni's last home match before he heads off to Cyprus. He has started 221 matches for FCZ. I would love for Servette to send him off with a loss. Servette is 3-0 in Zurich this season.
In other news: Raul Bobadilla and Pascal Doubai were suspended for 6 matches. Ouch for YB, the team that really wins is Thun,
May 12 FT Basel 6 - 3 Grasshoppers FT Lucerne 3 - 2 Lausanne Sports May 13 FT Thun 2 - 2 Young Boys Bern FT Zurich 0 - 1 Servette Servette with a huge away win, and Thun and YB draw! Servette should play all of their matches is Zurich, they are 4-0 there this season. 1. Basel 32 +47 74 2. Luzern 32 +13 51 3. YB 32 +10 45 4. Servette 33 -9 45 5. Thun 32 -2 40 6. Zürich 32 -4 35 7. Lausanne-Sport 33 -33 27 8. GC 32 -32 26 9. Sion* 32 +10 17 10. NE Xamax** 18 0 26 Servette has one more match, at home against Basel. A tall order. Thun has at Luzern and home to FCZ. If they get less than 5 points in those two matches, or if Servette manages to draw Basel, Servette is 4th and gets the Europa League spot. Alves and Quennec have done wonders with the club. Rueda will not be back as manager of LS.
the problem is, Thun still hopes to win 6 points at the CAS for forfeit wins vs Sion. The decision should be announced this week. What also could be announced this week is whether Servette, Sion and the others receive their license for next season. There have been some rumours that Sion could be in danger
Alves suspended for the match against Basel. Die of Sion is suspended for 8 matches after he went after a ball runner.
the CAS rejected Lausanne, Thun, Lucerne and Basels protest vs Sion. This way they avoid giving Sion another chance to attack them. And YB and Servette keep the 5 points gap to Thun
Seems that Sion aren't too popular with anyone then? Shame. Nice ground. Nice 'Boss' etc.... Apart from that, it's good to see a 'Daniel Gygax inspired' Luzern/Lucerne getting a EL spot. It would be nice to see DG on UK TV (if FCL are drawn against english opposition) for the first time. .....But I've always maintained that he should be in the Swiss Nati team/squad and receive accolades that way.
May 20 16:00 Grasshoppers ? - ? Zurich 16:00 Lucerne ? - ? Thun 16:00 Servette ? - ? Basel 16:00 Young Boys Bern ? - ? Sion If Servette could get anything out of the match with Basel, they are good in 4th. If Thun does not win both matches, they are out. It will be interesting to see how FCZ recovers from the mid-week cup loss. YB desperately trying to stay third, against a very frustrated Sion team. Add in a Zurich derby and this should be an interesting week.
It's nothing as to how the english media will treat FCL in the EL. They wont have heard of them (they've only heard of GCZ/FCZ/YBB and Basel. Sion are of course 'persona non grata' There's a youtube vid of FCL's goals which I tried to display but my 'hacker' has stopped it. I know who he is......but I wont discuss that on here. Far better for a moderator/administrator to send me a pm (assuming my 'hacker' doesn't read it first of course)
Servette, YB and Thun win. Servette will finish the season on 4th place and is qualified for the Euroleague qualifiers. If YB wins at Basel and Lucerne loses at Sion, YB could finish 3rd yet a crowd of 21821 in Geneva
