Servette got a shirt sponsor for the rest of the season - 500k coming in from GHI, a small free ads newspaper. don't know who is behind, but must be a rich owner as the newspaper wouldn't have so much money available btw, Quennec was asked by some investors and Michel Pont to help Servette, so actually they wanted him to take over besides, Serbeco who had an open bill with Servette for 21k is giving the money to Servette - the wind has turned completely around in Geneva. Sunday, I expect around 15000 in the stadium
This is all great news. When I am in Geneva this fall, I will make sure to pick up a copy of GHI every chance I get. I wonder if there will be an orchestrated demonstration to say thanks to Quennec?
There are only 2500 places available for the match with 2 days to go - we'll have a full stadium on Sunday!!
actually, not all of the places are available online, maybe half of them... but would be great to have 15000 to 20000 people on Sunday
March 10 FT Grasshoppers 0 - 2 Basel FT Sion 1 - 0 Thun March 11 FT Lausanne Sports 0 - 1 Zurich FT Servette 2 - 1 Lucerne Servette get the win, and around 10k at the match, and the winning goal was scored by Esteban! Sion gains three points on LS as LS loose at home to FCZ. Sion is now just 12 points back from LS. Basel extends their lead to 8 points as they win at GCZ. 1. Basel 23 +26 49 2. Luzern 24 +9 37 3. YB 23 +10 35 4. Servette 23 -3 33 5. Thun 23 +1 31 6. Zürich 24 +1 29 7. GC 23 -24 20 8. Lausanne-Sport 22 -29 14 9. Sion* 23 +9 2 10. NE Xamax** 18 0 26
was at La Praille yesterday... looked a bit more than 10'000 Lucerne was better organized and Servette had some difficulties in the first half, but Servette won the match with their big will - now we're only 4 points behind Lucerne with a match less played
Fischer was fired - Gämperle taking over for the moment... the best candidate to replace Fischer could be Petkovic
March 17 17:45 Grasshoppers ? - ? Young Boys Bern 17:45 Lucerne ? - ? Sion March 18 16:00 Servette ? - ? Zurich 16:00 Thun ? - ? Lausanne Sports Servette with a chance to earn three more points from struggling FCZ. Luzern-Sion should be the best of the weekend.
March 17 FT Grasshoppers 2 - 0 Young Boys Bern FT Lucerne 0 - 0 Sion March 18 FT Servette 1 - 1 Zurich FT Thun 2 - 0 Lausanne Sports 1. Basel 23 +26 49 2. Luzern 25 +9 38 3. YB 24 +8 35 4. Thun 24 +3 34 5. Servette 24 -3 34 6. Zürich 25 +1 30 7. GC 24 -22 23 8. Lausanne-Sport 23 -31 14 9. Sion* 24 +9 3 10. NE Xamax** 18 0 26 Third place should get interesting... GCZ with a surprise win over YB.
not only third place. Currently, it's five teams fighting for second place. Lucerne has already played 25 matches. Zurich won't play next weekend. Sion will play Lausanne and could reduce the gap to 8 points. GC is in between fighting for nothing really. De Ridder has now made 3 good matches in the last 4 weeks or so. Currently, the most positive thing at GC. The intrigues between Vogel and Sforza living up again as during their NT time.
March 24 17:45 Basel ? - ? Servette March 25 16:00 Lucerne ? - ? Grasshoppers 16:00 Sion ? - ? Lausanne Sports 16:00 Young Boys Bern ? - ? Thun If Luzern wins and YB looses, both real possibilities, there might be some separation between 2nd and 3rd. That being said, if Servette, Thun, GCZ win, there will be an even bigger logjam. Sion needs to get three points in this one to close the gap even further, if LS managed to get a point, they should be happy. A win would go a long way to their ASL survival.
Johan Vogel's comeback is not going as expected. All three matches that he has played in GCZ has lost. He has retired again and will focus on the U15 GCZ team.
Basel - Servette 1:0 at HT 45th Abraham (assist Shaqiri) Routis hit the aluminium in the 6th minute, but afterwards Basel was the better team. Servette had a second chance after 30' with Karanovic, but Abraham saved Basel
Lausanne has been defending quite well, but attacking badly lately... so they got several 0-0 draws... now they're 1-0 down at Sion after 80mins
It was a tighter scoreline than I imagined but i picked up decent odds @1.77 on the hw around 15mins in
Anyone who was guaranteed a profit of 10% would not be selling his system for 25eur per week. This is not a place to scam people but I see you have already been given a red card and rightly so!
although Sion is closing the gap to Lausanne, it will be difficult for Sion to catch Lausanne. It might be decided in the very last match of the season whether Sion can pass Lausanne in the table 1. FC Basel 1893 24 52 2. FC Luzern 26 41 3. BSC Young Boys 25 38 4. FC Thun 25 34 5. Servette FC 25 34 6. FC Zürich 25 30 7. Grasshopper Club Zürich 25 23 8. FC Lausanne-Sport 24 14 9. FC Sion 25 6* next round will be GC vs Sion: for how long does GC keep Sforza? maybe, there will be a reaction yet vs Sion Thun vs Basel: it all depends on Basel's spirit Lausanne vs Servette: as Servette fan, I hope Servette can land a victory and pass Thun Zurich vs YB: YB finally with a convincing victory today, but Zurich needs a victory to stay in the race for the EL. will be a close match
After the disaster, although expected, for Servette against Basel, I am hoping for a great match against LS.
March 31 17:45 Grasshoppers ? - ? Sion 17:45 Thun ? - ? Basel April 1 16:00 Lausanne Sports ? - ? Servette 16:00 Zurich ? - ? Young Boys Bern Thun - Basel should be a good one. YB needs to get something from FCZ, but the Leman Derby is the highest on my list this weekend.
Chipperfield and Huggel retire at the end of the season with Shaqiri and maybe Xhaka leaving, Basel will look for new midfield power. Currently rumoured Mohamed Salah who's on trial, Pirmin Schwegler, David Degen, Mladen Petric and Youssef Msakni Fringer is new FCZ coach Sforza will be dismissed at the end of the season. Former Swissair chair Dosé is the new GC chair Servette could be penalized yet with up to 4 points for Pishyar's late payments
tough derby loss for Servette - Lausanne still 8 points ahead of Sion wrt Lausanne and Sion... there is still a CAS decision pending wrt the protest Lausanne and co made vs Sion asking for forfeiting the matches where Sion used the transferred players. However, Sion got punished with 36 points, not only with 3 points per match where they used the players.... so, Lausanne could shoot themselves in their own leg with this. I mean they might win 6 points by getting 6 points for their 2 matches vs Sion with the illegible players, but Sion could get at least 12 points back if CAS says Sions matches have to be counted forfeit and not applying a 36 points penalty
