Philly supposed got RSL's top two picks in supplemental draft which would be essentially like 3rd rounders (picks 11 and 17 in first round of supplemental) plus pick #31 which should be Cochrane or Nealis.
Because the FO has made so many brilliant moves in the past? They just drafted a forward, FFS, when all of those LBs were still on the board.
Seems like a dumb move just to move up two spots. I mean, the Supplemental Draft isn't rated highly, but seems like so much to give up to move up 2 spots late in the second round.
They traded down two picks. They presumably knew who RSL were after. Assuming they rate two of the remaining LBs on the board more or less the same, they're guaranteed to get one of them at pick at 31 and have two extra supplemental draft picks to play with.
I like how Lopez and Witikowski are considered "Key Losses" for the Union in the little ticker at the bottom of the broadcast.
Ives likes it fwiw 3:02 Soccer By Ives: Union are on the clock. Look for them to take Stephen Okai, who impressed at the Combine with his versatility and technical ability.
Hopefully this means other left back plans are in the works. Or maybe they've identified someone they think will be available in the supplemental. Is there a left back in the academy who is ready to step up?
