Maybe the Union will take a timeout too. ------------- Rapids take Kindle. Union on the clock. Tannenwald is saying Cochrane is not in attendance.
Sorry to see Kindle pipped just before our pick. Seemed like the best of the left backs left. Hope I'm wrong (I usually am).
Apparently, he can play wide on the left and is very fast, two things we need. From what little I know, great pick. There's still plenty of LB's left.
Alexi Lalas said, "He's fast, but where's he going? Does he know where he's going on the field?" Isn't that the book on Danny Cruz? So now our wide players will be Danny Cruz and Danny Cruz on the left. Sure beats that left back they were going after.
Anding will be a LM in MLS but I have to say that I am very surprised that they did not take Cochrane at 26 (still could get him at 29). MON (already took B. Smith at LM at pick #8) and CLM were not going to take Anding.
We never know. There were plenty of LB's enough that I'd rather risk one of them being taken before our second pick over a wide player we like. Seriously everyone, he's playing on the LW.
Anding addresses the lack of speed on the team - have to think Cochrane goes @ 29. http://www.mlssoccer.com/players/don-anding What Scouts Say: "Lightning fast forward. Can change a game with his pace ... Doubt if there's a quicker player than him in the Combine ... Dynamic and very quick with the ball in his first couple of steps ... Back to goal he's average, in air he's good, not bad ... If you put ball into his grasp, he's the quickest kid around ... His work rate is tremendous, too ... Technically a little choppy at times but makes up for it with his speed ... For a team looking for somebody to stretch defenses, his first step is quick and he gets quicker ... You've got to have a complementary player to put him through ... As a winger he may not have the soccer IQ to man the position ... If you can play him through, no one is going to catch him ... Has played at left back, left winger, but his best spot when he leads the line up top ... MLS teams are probaly looking at him playing out wide which means they have to evalute his ability to serve the ball and whip balls in ... In and around the box he's got a quick release and shoots the ball well ... Best spot is probably up top, but in MLS he's probably a left winger or an attack-minded left fullback ... He's not tricky and does not know how to connect with other players. Disconnected kind of centerforward ... Can shoot the ball and can really open his legs so he's a good striker of the ball in the final third ... Can play wide left in a 4-3-3 ... Never had defensive responsibilities. Always stayed high and looked to get balls on the counter ... Possible second forward playing off a target or a possible wide player if someone can offer him through balls in behind."
Bottom line graphics are showing PHI on the clock, but Crew stats (key losses, etc) are scrolling. TIME OUT!!
