Yeah, normally the interlull comes at a terrible time for us. However, given the results against WBA and l'Arse, I'm not too upset about a little break to hit the reset button. Plus, it gives Buck some time to work closely with those not out on international duty and is an extra week for Lucas to get fit.

I'm going to be at the game, first away game of the season for me and I can honestly say for the first time I am not looking forward to it. Sitting on the tube with all the QPR fans after losing to QPR last season was bad enough but Sunderland ... urrrgghhh. I'm going with a few mates who are Sunderland fans and that in itself is bad enough, but the 4 hour drive back to Heathrow will suck - so we better win!

Rodgers spoke of possibly needing to temporarily adjust his formation do to our lack of forwards. Pushing Gerrard into the front 3 could be an example of that. I would imagine that it would not be a rigid system. Gerrard will surely drop into the midfield to get the ball, and Shelvey can push forward and support Suarez.

I hate waiting nearly 2 weeks for a game, especially the way the last one went.

I hate waiting just one week for a game, let alone 2.

If I could have it my way I'd have them play 1 European game and 1 domestic game a week, all year round. And if you think that sounds a tad too close to 'high-wage slavery' for your liking, then that's exactly what I mean! :D

Scholsey, I hope they win just for you. You could use a bit of good fortune to lift your spirits!

I am never confident with us playing at Sunderland since Balloon-gate. I just hope we find our own luck and magic to sneak out with 3. This club NEEDS a victory.

Well Rodgers should know how MON will play. We have everyone healthy it seems so all hands to the wheel and lets get 3.

Two weeks, well less for guys with international calls, for practice and work on BR's Grand Plan. I'm looking for some good stuff.

Just hope that they remember that there are 2 teams on the pitch and don't leave those gaping holes behind the fullbacks when we press. You know MON will be looking for them.

I'm looking for a good display of 'forward' possession football. As well inspiration in the final third culminating in good goals.

I like both those Cody - but I like your first one better - get Sterling a break and let him be an impact sub - and keep Gerrard further up the pitch since he's getting lazy on the defense and treacking back (and he's probably our best finisher anyway).

Gerrard is arguably our best finisher, yes, but ever since 26 provided that statistical data about Borini on the left side (which he hasn't had enough of this year) and after reviewing his missed chances, which all have something to do with his runs from the right and him trying to use his dominant right foot across goal, I would conclude that Borini on the left makes him about the same as Gerrard in terms of finishing, if not better. Regardless, as you've said, having Gerrard up there on the right coupled with what I believe about Borini gives us what I think is our best strike force.

Gerrard and Borini would be on their preferred sides of the pitch, each know how to make some devastating runs and how to finish, which would maximize the production we get out of not only them, but more importantly Suarez as well.

I'll have to DVR it as well--I have weekend kid activities. Will try to resist checking the score until I have a chance to watch, but will probably fail.

Just realized that Sportsnet World will show a re-run of this match tomorrow at midnight EST. I work until 9, and have plans after until 11, so I'll be able to stay disconnected and watch the match in its entirety :D
