Phew...just Falkenberg just salvaged a point by putting it in after a great low cross. Jozy did well to lay off the ball. The thought of a Dutch guy named Barry Maguire cracks me up...I don't know why.
I think jozy has a lot of talent but he still doesnt know how to find space and cant handle man marking.

A rare poor touch by Altidore at the end of the match. VVV recover and go downfield, and the AZ defense was unfortunately expecting the final whistle and don't do their job, allowing an easy winner for VVV. 1-2 final.

The only good thing coming out of this gameday thread is that I just learned how to use the ignore button. Terrible second half team performance from AZ, allowing VVV their first points in Alkmaar since 1988!
they lost rasmus elm (midfielder) simon poulson (midfielder) and someone else I cant remember who but he was another midfielder.
Has the back line regressed that much, though? Or was the midfield covering it up? I've watched a few AZ matches this year, and in each one they've been horrid.
they are a little younger I think and Rasmus elm helped a ton last year. he won a lot of balls in the midfield. still...jozy needs to learn to find space when he is being man marked.
