He is. He's been Kaiserslauterns best almost very time ive seen them play. Arguably was there best player this last season that they were relegated, to give you some persepective.

Until the window closes there is always hope... but I wouldn't hold out much hope for Tiffert or any other player that requires a transfer fee, personally. They aren't coming until we offload one of the other DPs in some manner.

Which won't happen until we have someone incoming ( done deal) that requires that DP slot. Seattle won't move a player unless a player is coming in to replace him on the roster.

Verdu isn't interested in leaving Espanyol, so I'm not sure how far that is going to go. It would also take DP money to bring him over and we have the same problem with that as we do with bringing Tiffert over, we already have three DPs.. Something has to be done to make us only have 2 DPs before either of these transfers can happen.

Obviously says more & more about how close Fernandez and/or Montero are to making a european move.

Seeing on twitter that deportivo cali officials are in Seattle spawning from a (unbelievably rediculous) rumor of him going back to depo. General concensus is that Montero's been transferred & they are getting their cut. Theres also been a few more pieces on Verdu but no new info. Anything more on Tiffert?

IF montero is leaving and with roger retiring we could be getting 2 players this transfer window. Of course one player has to be a forward imo.

Can you link one of the tweets? That would definitely be an interesting event considering Montero was just playing for us. Usually they pull the player out for a game if he's about to be sold.

But nothing new on Tiffert. Unless the Montero rumor is true, we can't pay the transfer fee for him and fit him under the cap as a non-DP.

Now that would be the ultimate coup and we could finally utilize the MLS youth DP rule, but alas, far fetched from reality.

Do we really need more midfielders? I think it would be a mistake to trade/sell Fredy to bring in another midfielder.

Sounders would be much more potent on passing the ball which i like. Does Verdu want to move to Seattle though?

May not be Verdu that transfers here still could be Tiffert and we have 2 weeks to sign someone and transfer.

It all could be positioning of the Sounders putting pressure on Tiffert and/or 1.FCK to give into the transfer offer from Seattle. Planting speculation of the Sounders having other ambitions with Verdu could help pressure Tiffert/1.FCK to pull the triger, otherwise Seattle will move onto Verdu or elsewhere.

Verdu and Tiffert would be a great addition to the sounders club however, should we focus on upgrading our back four? Sounders should really think about this.

Well if they sell Montero they should be able to do both as they would get a DP slot back, the Salary cap space and allocation dollars. This way they can pick up a new CM and upgrade the backline. I would expect if they sell Montero they'll invest in a forward as well.

i find it unlikely we would be going after a defender this transfer window.
