It's that time. We are hearing rumors for the summer just days, if not hours after the winter market closed.

A quality forward - whether CF or wide, and a solid 3rd CB, will make this team even more solid with depth. We'll never have to fear Benatia or Castan being sent off or Totti getting injured, not so much anyways.

An upgrade at LB would be fantastic, but there typically aren't many options out there.

"Back to Europe" should be the title. I thought it might jinx us for CL, but EL is still Europe.

    I think we need:
    • New GK (maybe we could grab Bardi from Inter, they have a great GK already)
    • Vice-Pjanic (goes without saying we need more creativity)
    • New Winger (Gervinho can't play every game next season. Need another impact player on the wings)
    • Backup RB (Can Maicon make it the whole season? Maybe not)
    • Backup LB (Balz/Dodo/Bastos? Probably not good enough. I expect Balz and Dodo to leave)
    • New CFW (Destro is going to be a star but we still need another CFW type)
Not an easy list. I am tempted to add another defensive minded CM (even with Nainggolan) so we are completely covered at all position, but perhaps a primavera player can be added.

    GK: Agree
Vice Pjanic: We have Paredes, but if he stays with Chievo we will need someone new.
Winger: Agree, I think they already have their eyes on someone.
RB: We have a backup in Toro, I'm more worried about Maicon. After the world cup he will have nothing to play for and I'm afraid he will pull a Pizarro on us.
    LB: Agree
CF: Already signed, Sanabria will be 3rd option in attack next year after Totti and Destro.

All I ask for is a quality striker and a new starting LB. Totti will be 38 and I would really like another game changer up top because of this reason. And Dodo and Balz have been huge liabilities this season.

The only way a great striker join us is if Destro leaves, we already bought Sanabria for something close to 6M and he was promised 1st team football next year.

I guess we can all agree what it is we need. Personally I think we should spend some money on a GK and LB. Even if it means paying good money, I don't want to cheap out on these positions. If we can invest up to 20m on wingers and midfielders maybe we can splash for a quality full back and keeper.

Time for Balz to be sold for a high quality LB.

Beck will be leaving on a free even though he's a right back. Should start thinking about replacing Maicon as he ages

I'm sick of seeing Lazio having better GKs than us ever since I started supporting Roma in 2002. Now they have Berisha who looks like he beat Marchetti for the starting spot. We really should buy a quality GK and end this boring series.

I think it's too large of a risk going into next season with Totti, Destro, and Sanabria as our strikers. Imagine if Totti and Destro both go down again, and we have to rely on a player with no top flight experience for both Serie A and CL. It's just asking for trouble. Especially considering that Totti really can't play more than one full game a week.

I think Destro would still get enough time as third choice next season with all the games Roma will be playing.

Think about it this way, who would accept 3rd role from Totti, Destro and the new guy? Again, Sanabria was already promised the role and I don't think they will break their word.

Losing your 2 top choices in striker position is extremely unlucky and hopefully won't happen again, but you can't have 16M sit on the bench as 3rd choice. If someone comes then it would be Quagliarela or something like that.

Goalkeeper is a must, ruffier is the guy I want.

Otherwise up top pastore who could fill in the false 9/ attacking midfield role.

Before the January window thread was locked there was a discussion about Lamela, Ljajic and Florenzi. This was my post- just wondering what you guys think since the thread was locked right after my post.

Need quality backups at Gk, 2 CM,1 CB, 1LB,1WINGER, 1CF. This summer mercato will be damn good. Expect the unexpected.
P.s-why don't we shop in Portugal? There are some quality players.
