Well, from the comments here I am a little discouraged. But I am hoping this team qualifies to the Hexagonal and does well. Getting better as the stages progress is the sign of a good team. In past tournaments we have played well in this stage and fizzled in the Hex.
There is not to impress in the first stage and there is to score 1 goal in 3 matches. I hope they will get better but honestly, I have huge doubt.
I've watched most of the matches. Our defensive midfielders are pretty bad. Our defenders are so-so and our GK is top notch. They don't really gel well. BUT with all that being said there has been NO team that has dominated our team. They have mostly played on the counter but it has been Colombia that has brought the drive to the opponents side. Paraguay is the best team from what I've seen so far but not very offensive when they played us. I expect us to at least tie vs Argentina.

I'm sorry, we're just not good enough. It's true that Venezuela qualified without to do nothing as well, beside winning Ecuador 0-1 but at least they won. We are now down 0-2 at half vs. Argentina and we need a miracle to qualify. It's not the result as much as our way of playing. very unaccurate, just like this whole tournament. bare can connect 1-2 passes, we created 1.5 chances in 45 minutes...I'm sorry, it's not football.
tipica seleccion de entrenador colombiano.. este equipo no juega a nada bueno solo se ven jugadores fuertes. grandes y correlones pero de muy mala tecnica.les cuesta incluso hacer un pase y muy inseguros. nada nuevo de los que nos tienen aconstumbrados los tecnicos criollos.. desde las inferiores se siente el miedo y la inseguridad para jugar.. ojala pekerman pronto pueda meter mano en la selecciones menores porque no salimos de lo mismo.
Seria lo mejor, pero esas inferiores son un negocio.... Pekerman es transparente y vive de su nombre, asi que el no se va a meter o recomendar a alguno de sus personas a que se metan a ese rollo. Lo optimo esque el escogiera y tuviera voz y voto impirtante en las inferiores. El tipo es tricampeon mundial juvenil y Colombia tiene bastante talento joven, se puede hacer algo interesante e incluso hasta los dirigentes terminan haciendo Plata.... Pero esto es Colombia no solo son ladrones Sino brutos y sin ambicion metale descarados y rosqueros ashh tambien cinicos e ignorantes y la lista sigue.... Pa que pero nosotros nos mandamos unas joyitas....
jugo muy mal la defensa que era flojita pero aunque sea no dejaba mucho hueco. Ese portero si me gusto bastante. Kevin Cardona muestra unas cositas interesantes y Joao tiene mucho talento pero sin nadie con quien conectar. Los volantes de marca estuvieron pesimo. Y el Kevin Caicedo de Atl Madrid no le vi nada del Atl Madrid durante el torneo. Bueno, ojala la sub20 nos de algo de alegria este verano.
Pekerman needs to start picking these coaches and working with our youth teams. Our sub 20 sucked too its everyone else was just that bad.
Sucks both the USA and Colombia failed to qualify for the World Cup. Now I am going to have to root for some Euro or African team to win it.
