Mention of him possibly playing in the FA Cup replay at Sunderland seems like rushing it to me. Winning that game is important to Bolton.
I feel it's a bit early, however, I'm not a doctor or trainer and I'm not personally working with him. Bolton seem to have his best interest ahead of his and so I'll feel confident about him playing against Sunderland if that's what they call.

It's worth noting that Bolton have 4 matches before February 6th. Everybody is advocating patience on the national team front, but that attitude is probably going to shift 180 degrees if/as soon as Holden starts one of these matches and performs well.
Bolton defeats Sunderland away, 2-0 in a bit of an upset . . . http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/20942544 http://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/football/fa-cup/2012-2013/sunderland-bolton-wanderers-591978.html Stuart in for Vela in the 74th minute.
Honestly though, why not? Once he starts getting regular minutes, he should be more than fit enough to help the USMNT in qualifying.
I personally think the June WCQers are a realistic timetable for a NT return. Maybe bring him in in March just to be a part of the group and train, learn JK's system, but I'd be patient.
Game wasn't televised as no one wanted to pay the fee for an FA cup game between Bolton and Sunderland. Praying some random footage makes its way onto the net in the next few days but I wouldn't hold your breath.
