He probably did get tired last season at some point. I wonder though if he started to inflate his sense of importance a bit and perhaps fell into some mental trap of feeling complacent. Loan him out to a lower mid table team and let him get a decent run of matches.
good article from Usher that I will link..... http://espnfc.com/blog/_/name/liverpool/id/1720?cc=5901
It's a decent article but I hate comments about "modern day football fans" as on the train home I got talking to another fan in his 60's, and he could not stop slagging off the game and players in particular Sterling and Gerrard(who he claims is finished). I couldn't believe we went to the same match as we were brilliant for an hour or so but quite reasonably relaxed as we were three to the good. People of all ages, class and intelligence go the game so I hate any lazy stereotype that ever wants to lump a certain amount of people together. As for Sterling, thought he had a decent game. His 2 starts have been the only times we have scored more than 2. Like Downing last season, simply being on the pitch in wide positions helped the other attackers even if he himself was not directly involved in the better chances.
Sterling doing well for England U21s today. Won a penalty and made an assist. Only against San Marino U21 but you can only play against who you are drawn against.
Sterling and Janusaj, eh? Hype and over-hype, what? http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...Uniteds-rising-star-Adnan-Januzaj-season.html
I was arguing about this with a United fan I know. And I was right with how I did it, as I said the big difference was in the defensive aspect of their games. Sterling has learned how to defend, Januzaj still struggles in that department. His defensive stats aren't too bad, but you just have to watch a Yanited game to see how lost he gets when they don't have the ball. He could develop the defensive instinct though. Both are on track to becoming world class wingers.
He's making headlines for the right reasons. Somewhat reminiscent of young Michael Owen in 98. http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/socce...ng-player-in-european-football-084841085.html
He seems to be so far removed from the player who BR chastised in the film Being Liverpool 'Say steady one more time and you are on the next plane back" there is going to be some furore i imagine as Sturridge, Suarez and Sterling are all in for only two awards (POTY and YPOTY). sure wish we had that problem
