I have always liked Grenoble and the surrounding area. Mélissa Theuriau is from Grenoble. :)

Oh and on which stadium has the best architecture I pick Nantes 1 and Rennes 2 and PSG 3rd. I really dont like Gerland's design. I really like La Beaujoire and the remodeled Route de Lorient looks great. The Parc de Prince is top 4 no doubt.

It will happen eventually regardless if you like it or not. Renovated Velodrome will surpass "OL land."

it's not whether i like it or not (although to be honest i love the vélo the way it is)... my wife has an aunt on the marseilles city council and from the stories i hear, a good nickname for la ville phocéenne would be the city that CAN'T! :D

I like it the way it is as well but you have to acknowledge that it needs a roof. Its a shame it cant host a European final just because its not covered. If it had a roof it would have already hosted a UEFA Cup and Champions League final by now for sure. They probably should have put a roof on it back when it was being redone for the World Cup as it would have saved them time from having to do it now. I'm not sure if it needs 80,000 seats though. OM are still the primary tenant and 80,000 is way too much for league matches. I wouldnt want to see all those empty seats when they play.

for some matches there are whole GROUPS of sections without a solitary soul in them. especially cup (even uefa cup) matches... a season ticket doesn't include these, so even in the ends there can be lots of empty seats. but in ganay, and especially when the mistral is blowing and there's a drop of rain, the fans stay away in droves, even for league matches.

All pitches look great when you sit as far from it as you do in Lille's stadium...

well, since it started out as kudos for the PdP, it rightfully belongs in the PSG forum... but as it heads off topic it belongs in the stadium thread...

hell, it's a floor wax AND a dessert topping. i'm copying it over to the stadium thread, so the discussion can go both ways.

Re: Le Parc des Princes : L1 players' favorite stadium

i think the PdP is tops... as for Louis II, it's very clean, in great condition and is very comfortable, but as for every building in monaco, it's of dubious taste.

route de l'orient is very well done inside and out, so is caen's ornano.

as for gerland, the covering for the ends is very nice, but for the rest of it there is no "design" as such. the place has been redone so many times since it was was put up in the 20's...

and since the thin rim still left of the original is considered a historic landmark that you have to build around (frankly, if they can tear the towers of wembley down  ...) the place has become an unsightly hodgepodge.

Good article but he said Lille is France's third biggest town and I'm pretty sure that's inacurate. Its the 14th largest town and the 4th largest urban area according to www.citymayors.com
