FYI, google maps now has streetview for South Africa -- including going inside the new stadiums.

    I've not had the privilege!

The "Worst Ground I've Ever Been To Award" has to go to the old Manor Ground in Oxford. Rest in pieces...

Clearly you never went to Millmoor, former home of Rotherham United. They could have filmed the next Mad Max movie in the industrial wasteland immediately surrounding the stadium, and they wouldn't even have needed to hire a set designer. It looked like the apocalypse had just blown through.

Except for the giant "UNION" bit and the fact that it overlooks Jersey...

Blackpool's hurriedly preparing a new East Stand to temporarily complete the square at their Bloomfield Road ground...

    Kinda cool

Though the temporary stand construction has forced a change to their first Premier League home fixture

Here's what the old East Stand looked like (torn down a few years ago)

Here's what it looks like now

And the modular stand will look kind of like

The stand above was built by Worcester Rugby Club, and then later retrofitted into this. Would be neat if MLS clubs like Columbus and Toronto could spruce up plain bleachers like that.

That reminds me of what Montreal will be in to start off with.

This might be an alternative for DC United as well - We have no idea what kind of grounds Chang might be able to find, but if its anything like the bankrupt Rosecroft Raceway, some temporary stands would be a good way to go while before permanent stands can be erected

honestly, at this point i'd take a technologically advanced modular stadium.
the worcester rugby ground would be like a holy blessing at this point.

Of all the WC stadia in South Africa, I like Ellis Park the most. It seemed to photograph well on TV. The mezzanine looked to be at the right height. The stands intimate and the video screen well incorporated.

Some shots of Shrewsbury Town's stadium - which they decided to name Greenhous Meadow. The Greenhous half is for the sponsor, the Meadow bit alludes to their old ground - Gay Meadow.

    Nice, functional little stadium...

Love the five-a-side pitches in the complex
