I haven't been on the thread in a while. Are we moving the team to New Orleans? Jeez that's a long way, but should make for a great pre and post game atmosphere. On another note, I think the school boundary/lottery issue in DC is providing a much needed political distraction from the stadium NIMBYs complains. I raise a virtual glass to hoping we can slip through under a cloud of darkness...
Not a whole lot of news, but it's something. Interview with the new COO. http://www.pressboxdc.com/2014/04/28/how-will-new-stadium-benefit-dc-united
This can't be right Definitely the 3-2 aggregate loss to Chicago, the loss to Houston in 2012, the loss to NE in the ECF, wasn't the [game we shall never speak of] v. Chicago after 04 also? That's at least 4 by my count. What? Thohir is putting up $150MM, Levien is just an executive.
Levien has a minority share in the team (something like 10%?). He would, presumably, be putting some of his personal money towards the stadium.
Correct he is a minority owner. I just assumed it was Uncle Eric's money going into the stadium. Regardless, "management" is putting up $150 not Thohir $150 and Levien $150
What is the status of the acquisition of Pepco property at Buzzard Point, and does the sale of Pepco to Exelon make any foreseeable difference?
I was just about to post that. The only difference I can see is that I recall that the chief at Pepco is a "soccer guy" and if his role is diminished somehow, that could be a little bit of an issue. But I don't think it was a major bonus to begin with, so I'm guessing the needle doesn't move much.
The sentence is ambiguous, but what it's saying is that both owners made a pledge. The pledge was that $150m of their collective money would go into the stadium process. It isn't trying to say they pledged $150m each.
I'm glad they are streaming the matches, but they wont set up the stream to be compatible on an ipad or an iphone. Unfortunatley, this is all I have to work with unless I am at work.
I doubt they have and I honestly have no idea, but have the games been available in the MLS Live app for free to go along with the MLS Live stream on dcunited.com?
