    1974? I can't imagine there was a stadium in Bonn big enough. I was living in Germany at the time, but the memory of a 2 1/2 year old isn't reliable.

    I am growing less confident on the probabilities that D.C. United will build the new stadium in the DC area.

    Of World Cup 94, yes, but what I was getting at is that if we want to win 2022, we're going to have to promise some sort of encore, it's part of the deal.

    Unfortunately, I could see the local politicians not caring, for a couple reasons: a) it's 12 years away, which to some politicians might as well be the Year 2525, and b) we ain't won nothin' yet, so it wouldn't be surprising if politicians chalked it up to 'iffys and buts.'

    Yep - Brazil's capital was Rio when the World Cup was played there in 1950.

    One thing I learned quickly when I first started working as a librarian--many, many people do not know the difference between a biography and a bibliography.
