I don't think Reid's injury is a massive blow, i'm glad it's Reid out for 6 weeks rather than Davids, Carrick, Jenas, Tainio or Lennon.

...he will be fine when he gets back to England. How are Egypt doing?

...not bothered about Reid's injury. Isn't Ghaly injured as well for 6 weeks?

Egypt has a very winnable quarterfinal against the Congo tomorrow. If Egypt wins Mido will be there until the 9th or 10th.

Mido is fine as he's starting on the bench for the quarter-finals.

Davids didn't look so great in the last game, he should probably sit out. Murphy looked short of match fitness too... any news on Tainio?

Tainio should be back in our squad for the next game.

Thank goodness... Any news on Ghaly. I've been talking to some Feyenoord fans who rate him very highly.

Ghaly's quite a few weeks off. I'm not sure about Tainio - nothing's been said about him which is strange. I guess we'll hear tomorrow but it wouldn't surprise me if he's another week off playing.

I expect Davids to be starting on Sunday.

What's the deal with JJ? Why wasn't he in the squad today?

Martin Jol reported that Jermaine Jenas missed Sunday's clash against Wigan because of illness.

The midfielder had struggled to overcome the problem this week but just as things were looking rosier in training on Saturday, fever struck again.

"Jermaine had a high fever on Wednesday and Thursday," explained Martin after the 2-2 draw at the Lane. "We got him on antibiotics and he trained on Saturday because I wanted to push him and he said he felt great.
"But he then had fever again on Saturday night and Sunday morning so I couldn't play him. I couldn't put him on the bench either."

I bet I know what kind of "illness" that was. The kind you get after having 25 shots of Jack Daniels on your birthday... I've gotten my fair share of those "fevers" myself, LOL :D

    Sounds like he's got aids....

But it's probably just a cold.

From what I read Ghaly is back at training and just needs to get to match fitness.

Hopefully he will get some action in the reserves, this Monday the reserves are playing West Ham, then Portsmouth the Monday after, so he will probably get a game in one or both of them.

    I totally forgot about Ghaly.

It's like signing a new player - pardon the pun :)

Andy Reid is supposedly on his way back to "fitness".

Well, according to what I read elsewhere the club sent him to a boot camp in Italy for people with fitness issues, where he got counselling over his diet. The club are hoping he starts taking his career a bit more seriously.

If you stopped right there, it would've been a hell of a post.

Yes, I heard the same thing sendorange - fat camp in Italy!

Also notice Jol's slightly cryptic comment on the Spurs site...

    "He's looking better than ever"

....I do believe that if he does lose weight, he could become a decent player for us. If not, then he can help the tea lady as word has it she'll retire in two years.

Problem is he doesn't quite fit into our system. Jol likes two pacey wingers who can get to the byline whereas fatboy seems to be better as a more static left midfielder. Great technique though, can score out of nothing and having a long-range scoring threat from midfield is certainly something we're missing

So what's the deal with Ledley's metatarsal. Is he definitely out for the rest of the season or what? We could definitely use him at West Ham.

Jol is quoted as saying he could be back by the first week of May, since the injury isn't as serious as first thought (stress fracture, not a break). So it would seem there's a possibility he could play against West Ham, but that's still a big question mark at this point.
