alrighty then ... the bottom four from the CL and the group stage runners up* (ergo our possible 2nd round opponents) are:

    Ajax (Holland)
    Juve (Italy)
    Porto (Portugal)
    Viktoria Plzen (Czech)
    Odesa (Ukraine)
    Esbjerg (Denmark)
    Maribor (Belgium)
    Dnipro (Ukraine)
    Maccabi (Israel)
    Kiev (Ukraine)
    Liberec (Czech)
    Betis (Spain)
    Trabzonspor (Turkey)
    AZ (Holland)

    who do folks want, then?

*minus Swansea, of course. beat me to it, count.

it looks like one of us got the group L table wrong, there. according to soccernet, PAOK won the group, but they finished level on both points and goal difference, and I don't know what determines it from there ... so i'm not sure which is right.

on a personal level I would love to see Maccabi Tel Aviv since I get to watch them on TV but I'd rather they go thru to the next round so I'm hoping Spurs get someone else, anyone not in the first 3 is good by me. Lazio would be nice, tear those neo-nazis apart.

I wasn't able to watch the second half. How did Eriksen look? Was he on long enough to make an impression?

I suspect porto may be wanting us for a very similar reason.

I think I'd rather have been runner up in the group, judging by those potential opponents.

we will not finish 4th. and I don't care if we finish 6th if getting in the Europa doesn't equal trying to win it.

so prioritize this competition, please, tim. you're gone either way; so go out with a fistful of glory.
