Start list for this Saturday http://www.cyclingnews.com/races/omloop-het-nieuwsblad-elite-2014/start-list
The best news is that the Muur is in this year's Omloop. Flanders hasn't been the same for me since they took the Muur out.
And how quickly it changes...Now, Van Avermaet and Stannard lead with around 10 seconds ahead of the chasers.
cn ticker Stannard and Van Avermaet lead. They have a handful of seconds over Terpstra, Boasson Hagen and Vanmarcke with the rest of the chase just behind them
Stannard and Van Avermaet have 15 seconds on the trio behind with the rest of the chase at 26 seconds.
1 Ian Stannard (GBr) Team Sky 2 Greg Van Avermaet (Bel) BMC Racing 3 Edvald Boasson Hagen (Nor) Sky 4 Sep Vanmarcke (Bel) Belkin Pro Cycling 5 Niki Terpstra (Ned) Omega Pharma Quick Step 6 Jempy Drucker (Lux) Wanty - Groupe Gobert 7 Taylor Phinney (USA) BMC Racing 8 Dries Devenyns (Bel) Team Giant - Shimano 9 Egoitz Garcia Echeguibel (Spa) Cofidis 10 Arnaud Demare (Fra) FDJ.fr
One of these days, Van Avermaet is going to get one...or always be close. Phinney did a lot of work to bridge the chases from about 20kms out. Surprised Vanmarcke who made some good effort attacks 20-40 kms out was still able to be in the top 4.
He does recognize that there are other teams, right? lol I did not see much of Boonen. They showed him eating, and I saw that someone said that one of his gels exploded....maybe he just didn't have the energy. Otherwise, Terpstra had a good ride.
