Porte takes the stage and the overall in Paris-Nice Talansky takes second on the stage and the overall. Good job, Andrew. Disappointed with van Garderen.
I do love that the CN ticker was asking if the time checks were right, as Porte dominated the TT today. (a stage he was awful at last year). Anyway, Sky make take two big scalps in a couple days, as Froome is still in the lead at T-A, with a 20 second lead over Contador.
Wish I would have watched the T-A stage today. Sagan takes the win, but Nibali takes over at the top (GC). Froome now down by 34 seconds. Hilarious tweets from UCI Overlord I wonder if the dementors will take care of Froomey now that he's out of the lead.... Yes. The Sky Death Star imploded today. Great work by @chrisfroome all on his own to attempt to limit the damage.
CN Top 10 contenders for Sunday's Milan-San Remo http://www.cyclingnews.com/features/milan-san-remo-top-10-contenders Here's the start list http://www.cyclingnews.com/milan-san-remo/start-list
I don't think anyone is. I will probably miss most of it, as I am meeting some friends for breakfast on Sunday. However, I would point people to http://www.steephill.tv/classics/milan-san-remo/ I always use the English Eurosport stream, with Harmon and Kelly
Saw a post somewhere yesterday that beIn might have it (they've had delayed 2 hour T-A coverage this week stage-by-stage) but I can't find it in their listings.
It's snowing so much this could be biathlon. If so, can I be shot first?— Koen de Kort (@koendekort) March 17, 2013 LMAO Poor bastards...
From race organisers RCS: Due to the unfavourable weather, the Race Management – by agreement with the Commissaires Panel – has decided to neutralize the race in the stretch of route between Ovada and Arenzano (subject to further assessment of the weather conditions in Arenzano). The race time of the breakaways and their lead over the chasing group will be “frozen” in Ovada and the status quo will then be resumed in Arenzano, where the race will start again around 2:30 p.m. --------------- All the buses have arrived at the check point. A few teams are complaining, saying that the race should have been stopped earlier but we're still preparing for the race to start again in roughly 20 minutes.
That's 15:00 CET for those of you asking and it's confirmed that Le Manie has been pulled from the race route as well. That 15:00 is the restart time.
I won't be around for a lot of this, but here are the riders in the break (when it gets started again) Matteo Montaguti (AG2R La Mondiale), Diego Rosa (Androni), Filippo Fortin (Bardiani Valvole - CSF Inox), Maxim Belkov (Katusha), Lars Bak (Lotto) and Pablo Lastras (Movistar)
