Incredible passion by your fans and great performance by your team. You should all be proud despite what I know is a tough way to go out, I'm a big fan of the rivalry that is starting to brew between our clubs.
$100 to the first person who finds me that ref. Kidding. But seriously, come on! The announcers are out here praising his consistency and letting them play. I swear it was the same idiot from the season finale. Dynamo, you did good, you packed the box like I knew you would. Almost cracked. Never thought I would say this, but if we only had Omar Bravo...
Our biggest energy guy who's been streaky for us lately (Jacob Peterson) we leave on the bench the entire game. Fvcking fvck. The problems we saw at the beginning of the season doomed us at the end. Go find us a freaking striker.
The referee is Allen Chapman (stats here). Although he is relatively new, but has shown a lot of promise this season. You can rate his performance here. IMHO, the no-call on the blatant PK was questionable, but SKC had their chances. A little calmer on the ball and they could have forced Houston to come out of their shell.
I don't think anyone had a bad night. It was a good game, hard fought, well played. Fairly, if loosely, officiated. PV tactics could have been different, but tonight wasn't the problem. Our best wasn't good enough to overcome the points we let in at BBVA. If the season had to end now, this was a good game to end on. March can't get here soon enough.
Screw MLS refs. Anyway, fantastic effort from our players and fans. The atmosphere at LSP tonight was awesome. Way to go out fighting. I'm proud to support this club.
I thought they were about as calm on the ball as they could have been given the urgency and the Houston pressure. What we need is better finishing.
First time I've gotten to see a replay of the end....but how is that not a PK? http://www.mlssoccer.com/matchcenter/2012-11-07-SKC-v-HOU/highlights?videoID=205492
I know the guy got fired by Montreal, but Jesse is not the answer to the shortcomings of Peter Vermes!
I feel like I saw this exact game 20 times this season. Even when we're playing someone who wasn't packing it in, all we do is generate crappy crosses that rarely turn into good chances. If we can't find anyone who can create chances through the middle in this system, then we need to dump it. Frankly, I have some serious doubts this thing will work without Roger, so maybe we should just dump it anyway. Bah. Time for a drink.
I am so proud of this team! That is the way to play the final game of the season. We put everything into that game. Congrats to Houston being Houston. I wouldn't of expected anything different.
A depressing result, but it was a hell of an atmosphere. Entire stadium didn't sit down the entire game. That was awesome. I've always said we need a true dedicated talented DP striker to turn this team around, but after tonight, I kind of think we need a true dedicated talented DP winger. Man that's a heart breaker. Freakin' Houston.
God, the sickest part of this is... Houston is probably the only team in the playoffs that could beat us and with San Jose going down we would have hosted the final.
Honest opinion: because it's the 93rd minute. No ref wants to be the guy that makes that call in an elimination game in stoppage. I think had that been 25 minutes earlier you've got a decent chance at it being called, although as loose as that game was I'm really not sure what was and wasn't a foul. Gotta say that was an interesting series, one really bad game from each side. Physical game from both sides tonight (there was a whole lot of fouling both ways), tough way for you guys to go out.
