And yes he is a incredible player the new Ronaldo we should keep.

Unlike some Lampioes think, the AP does cover Sporting.
I guess the Lampiao AP photographer new what was going to happen in Leiria.

Well deserved victory and well deserving of the 3 points to move up on the table. Sporting was a bit unlucky to put in a couple more goals but all that mattered was the win. Let's hope we continue to play with this type of confidence and work our way on now becoming 1st.:D

It seems Mr. Rui Alves won't let this one rest...he has filed a formal complaint with the league...

Didn't like the Sa Pinto reaction to the goal...didn't like the atmosphere in the stadium...didn't like the way the ball boys handled themselves:eek:

This guy is a complete joke...what did he think was going to happen after he shot him mouth off all week..

I guess now it's illegal to celebrate 10 meters from someone with a tight fist. What do you suggest for Sa's punishment 1 year ban or more?

Instead of worrying about wednesdays match against you know who (i don't know if I can mention their name), he's running is mouth. Then again maybe he's not worried about wednesday.

I see, this is how it works:

I can run my mouth all week long, poking fun at an institution that has legendary status in Portugal, and when things don't work out in my favour, I am going to moan and complain about unprofessionalism from the opponents.

    Sr. Rui Alves...

    Vai à ******** que o Pariu!

    LOL

I dont know what Sa Pinto said but Alves provoked this kind of reaction himself. Anyways its all part of the game, nothing really out of line happened- Alves should relax.

I know I'm going to get blasted here for saying this, but don't you guys think that Sá Pinto took it a little too far at the end of the game?

Ok, I understand his reaction on the pitch during the game. He can celebrate the goal anywhere and in anyway he wants... but why does he have to provoke the man after the game?

Sporting's best answer to Nacional, imo, would have been to calmly win the game and put themselves above all that controversy.

A guy with Sá Pinto's responsability, and particularly with his kind of background, should have known better.
The image he portrayed was that of a big club lowering itself to the (apparent) position of having a rivalry with a team like Nacional! Not to mention that, coming from him, it just adds to the general public's idea that he is a classless violent thug.

I don't know if I'm making myself clear... but this isn't meant to put down Sporting or anything. Personally I just think he exaggerated in his reaction after the game and gave too much importance to Nacional and its president.

I agree...for the most part. He probably could have taken the "high road" but there is nothing like the feeling of sticking it to somebody after the amount of BS Mr. Alves was spewing...

Sa Pinto leaves everything on the field...he plays with passion and fire...most people misread this because of the Artur Jorge incident. But what Sa Pinto did there was what most people would have done in his same spot, [confront the person who had been bad mouthing you] the fact that he went a bit overboard and slugged him is another story.

I wish SCP had another 10 Sa Pintos to put on the field...because I will take him over any other player currently playing in the Superliga...

I have never seen another player run as hard after every 50/50 ball as he does...he never questions a coach's decision if he is not in the starting lineup or is subbed. He trains hard every day and earns his spot in the starting lineup. At age 33 he is playing like he is only 23 and I will tell you this...had Pedro Barbosa played as hard last year as Ricardo Sa Pinto has this year...SCP would have won the UEFA Cup and the Superliga...

That has got to be the most accurate post ever. Theres no way anybody, who didn't know who sa pinto was, would've guessed he is 33 by the way he plays. Should be the capitan IMO.
