Hmmm, we need to get him back in US camp just to get rid of that nasty accent! He needs to grow the achy-breaky mullet back too.
Spector earns a late call up to the national team camp. http://www.ussoccer.com/news/mens-national-team/2014/03/140302-mnt-spector.aspx
He [Spector] has lived in England the past 9 years, I'd be more surprised if he didn't have an accent.
His past videos like from 2010/11 it didn't sound as pronounced. But then he has moved from Manchester to London to Birmingham, so must be quite a blend and take a bit of familiarity.
Not everyone acquires an accent. It was funny to hear Jozy sounding like my Dutch former boss, though. Going in the other direction British people vary widely in whether they adopt an American accent after moving to the US - with some people I know actually can't tell at all.
With Chandler, Lichaj, and Cherundolo out of the picture, Spector's chances shot up pretty good. I hope he is brought in for a few more looks before the WC if healthy. I think he be better than Brad Evans, and at least competition for Parkhurst for that #2 right back spot.
he's slotted in mostly on the backline this season. i think he's played both fullback positions and center back. there are a few others on these boards who've followed the championship a lot more closely than i have, though.
Birmingham had been sliding towards the relegation zone, so today's 3-1 win was a big one. Spector went 90 (seems to be playing midfield), Packwood unused sub.
Time to start keeping an eye on Birmingham. They've been slumping for months and are now only one point above the relegation zone. Today they lost 1-0 to Nottingham Forest, an opponent that had been winless in its previous 12 games. Spector went 90, with Packwood again an unused sub.
As an Arsenal supporter with really vivid memories of the 2011 League Cup final, I say good riddance. As a US supporter, I hope that Packwood and Spector can get off of the sinking ship.
Should be noted that Birm. have 3 matches left to pick up points. Yeovil, Millwall and Barnsley only have 2 matches left.
