    Hello guys,

I was having a look at the standings in the second divison and it reminded me how tough it is for a team to come back to the top flight once they have fallen to second division. Celta Vigo for example has been there for some time and not only they have not been able to come back, but now they risk to fall to Second Divison B. Sociedad also don't seem like they can come back this season. Zaragoza is still in the fight but they are in 5-th place with one more match played.

There was no thread related to Second Divison A so I thought we could have one to discuss this division and also we can bring up statistics and memories like for example which team stayed there longer (out of the top teams) etc.

Celta risks dropping to Second Division B.Theyr only two spots and 6 points above relegation with 7 matches to go. Sociedad is 4 places and 8 points below promotion.

Wasn't Alavés up in the first division not too long ago? They're in the drop zone.

I remember alavés in the uefa cup final against liverpool, second tiers can be a graveyard if you don't come back in the first couple of years, look how long it took Gijon. I hope Rayo Vallecano can come up but they look to be slipping of late.

Alaves is most likely to be relegated after this weekend. Pretty sad after some glorious years.

Well the playoffs are over for promotion to Segunda Division.

Here are the 4 teams that were promoted to Segunda from Segunda B.

    Cadiz
    Cartagena
    Villareal B
    Real Irun

The four teams relegated from Segunda to Segunda B were:

    Sevilla At.
    Alicante
    Eibar
    Alaves

The three teams that were relegated to Segunda from Primera were:

    Numancia
    Huelva
    Betis.

For Real Irun this is the first time in 45 years that they have been back to Segunda Division.
