It is claimed Florentino said to the squad on multiple occasions "You are the best squad I have had since I first took presidency in 2000."

Whether it is true or not who knows though I will say the addition of Bale, the addition of U21 spanish players + Illarra etc despite the figures has certainly improved our current squad, how it stacks up the other squads we have had it's a matter of opinion.

Any news on Ronaldo and Pepe's injuries?

 

Carlo said Ronaldo will be 100%, said he might play this weekend against Espanyol. Didn't hear anything on Pepe.

 

pepe is still in doubt but i'm quite sure he will work even harder than week than he needs but he will play in CL. cause still two weks left

We play Sevilla in the European Super Cup on the 12th August in Cardiff. Hopefully the LFP have the intelligence to schedule the Spanish super Cup between these 2 fixtures. Playing it after the season has started, like they've done the last 2 years, was totally ridiculous.

I've booked my train tickets for Cardiff for the UEFA Super Cup. I just need to keep an eye on UEFA website for when the ticket portal opens. Either way, i'm still going down and I can probably pick a ticket up from a tout.

We also have the following cups firmed up:

1) European Super Cup vs. Sevilla in Cardiff on August 12th.
2) Spanish Super Cup vs. Atletico: August 20 and 27th.
3) FIFA Club World Cup in Morocco: Semifinal on December 16th or 17th, Final/3rd place on December 20th.
