3....Blanco Oh, and according to Bruce Arena, he's spoken to Landon and he is definitely coming back. Landon's agent has been quoted saying as much as well.
Lampard appears to still be an important player at Chelsea. I wonder if they change their mind and end up keeping him until the end of the season or if they are just waiting for their players to get back from the AFCON.
Not sure what you are referring to specifically but if talking about Lampard the source says that Lampard would join LA this summer. They don't have to worry about transfer windows to close the deal if that is the case and can be announced officially anytime between now and the summer if it comes to pass.
Correct just like Drogba last year, the deal was in place 6 months before he became the free agent. So Lampard is free to sign with any team when ever he wants, but he still under contract until the EPL season is over.
Reference: Beckham, David. A lot of these "superstar" signings have arrived in the summer following the end of the European season. This is nothing new and nothing to get upset about.
There's renewed speculation he may be offered a short extension at Chelsea: http://bleacherreport.com/articles/...es-new-deal-means-hope-for-frank-lampard-deal
Well with Hodgson's comments after the Brazil friendly the chances of Lamps coming look a little grim. Especially with all the praise he's gotten lately. Look at Becks experience with the NT while playing with LAG...there wasn't one. Might turn him away from signing.
Reports today are that he either has been or will be offered a deal at Chelsea. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/fo...ank-Lampard-new-Stamford-Bridge-contract.html It's not clear what the financial terms are -- the article suggests they are going back and forth now -- but having gone this far I think Chelsea will get him to a number where he stays.
to be fair, Becks is a bit of special case. Hodgson wants Lamps to play at highest level if he is to be considered for England. And MLS is not the highest level of soccer
He was left off the national team almost entirely after he joined the Galaxy there BRO. Do you know who david beckham is?
Again. Check your facts. You Are Dead Wrong. One of the biggest and most incessant criticisms about Beckham when he came here is that people were complaining about him being more concerned about playing for England and flying across the Atlantic for games, causing him to miss games for the Galaxy. You are just dead wrong. Capello very famously said that he would not call up Beckham if he was playing at such a low level like MLS, and then a few months later called him in. He played for England on and off for two years after joining the Galaxy.
Am I not following here? After 2009 he was left off completely. His goal was to play in the WC again and the Euro. He never did. I've always been a big supporter of Beckham and the MLS. But the truth is in black and white...if Lampard comes here Hodgson has made it pretty clear his NT duties would be in jeopardy just like Beckham's were when he signed. Thats pretty cut and dry isn't it?
It's really not rocket science, dude. You said he had no NT experience after joining LA. That's incorrect. Now you're moving the goalposts to say that, okay, he did have NT experience, but it sucked and was over in two years. If you'd just said that to begin with, there wouldn't be an issue. ------RM
Apparently not, because you said his national team career ended when he moved to the Galaxy and that is why Lampard might not want to come. But unfortunately, there is a thing called the internet. Its what you are using right now to access this site. And once things are posted on the internet, they pretty much stay there forever. And facts can't deny that for two years after moving to LA, David Beckham received numerous call ups to the national team. And had England actually qualified for Euro 2008, Beckham very likely would have been on the team, as evidenced by his regular call-up for World Cup qualification (he played in 7 of their 8 qualifying matches). The only reason he wasn't on the World Cup team was because he ruptured his Achilles tendon three months before the tournament. Just give up. You are so blatantly wrong its ridiculous. A serious injury ended his international career, not a move to the Galaxy like you suggested.
The fact of the matter here is that Roy Hodgson stated that Lamps chances would be hampered if he joined LAG with the NT. It was clearly stated across news outlets that there were concerns when Beckham made the same move. He was snubbed out of the 2012 Euro team and it was also clearly stated he went on loan spells to AC for the specific purpose of staying fit to hopefully join the NT. Whether fanboyism prevails here or we notice the similar situations (didn't say EXACT) you might be able to understand my initial post. Geez
Clearly my words were taken out of context. I apologize lol. That quote in bold was a bad attempt at sarcasm. Meaning that Beckham didn't play in any meaningful tourneys after he joined the team. And that there was widespread speculation it had to do with him moving to MLS. Sorry for not being exact.
