I have seen this cat play every once in awhile and am really impressed. Has he ever been capped? What is his major flaw that he hasnt made a WC squad? I know playing in Brasil and the like countries, it is tougher to break into the natl team..but what is his story? Thanks.
Yes Sonny has been capped by Brazil!! He debuted back in 8/97 vs S.Korea in which he scored his 1st and only goal in about 6 caps!! This guy is a dud like Jardel, in fact he's so much a dud that back in '99 during the Brazil v Barcelona game that Luxemburgo didn't even pick Sonny, who wound up playing for Barca!! He was best left at home at WC'02. Shoot I would've picked the 38 yr old Bebeto over him!!
Not a chance. He's not even remembered in Brazil anymore. And there are many more ahead of him at his position.
