We're Coming Back Section 9 (SCU and RCB) have already adopted this as our official song... come sing it with us! [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KdxUsoJ3Xfk"]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KdxUsoJ3Xfk[/ame]
Iam in agreement with a fight song or something similar. I know that we don't have the population of say Portland or Toronto, but those fans know how to bring it. I saw the Portland vs Chicago match the other day on ESPN and again I was blown away by the Timber's Army. I've watched like 7 or 8 youtube clips of the "Ole' Ole' Ole Real Salt Lake" chant and it's getting old. I mean is that the best we can come up with? I know there's quite a few more chants but they don't get sung enough. The incessant drumming is annoying too. Sorry if I sound harsh I don't mean to it's just that Iam frustrated.
I hate Spurs Not much a fan of the song, either but this is ********ing awesome (Jake posted it on his fb page, I want to post it here for a potential idea) [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Hckgwh7ryU&feature=share"]YouTube - GREAT!!FOOTBALL FANS SINGING![/ame]
Hey guys, i just posted a new thread in this forum about a new song idea and asking for support from the SG's leaders. Please read it and give feedback I think it will work!
If this idea doesn't get implemented... it's a real shame. We NEED to BACK THIS UP!!! https://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1715320
it seems to me that the best song to get behind would be these two things combined: 1 - a popular song that most people just simply know (Kills a lot of songs, but so what) 2 - a love song of sorts. agreed?
Oh when Salt Lake, goes marching in oh when Salt Lake goes marching in get off your butts, stand and cheer when Salt Lake goes marching in... Oh when Salt Lake, goes marching in oh when Salt Lake goes marching in **(MONTERRAY), cries to their mommy when Salt Lake goes marching in. **opposing team name This is actually going to be implemented as a trial run Wednesday.. it should work nicely since it's such a simple song and we'll get these fliers passed out well ahead of gametime. we're making up about 4000.
Its my old high schools fight song.. tweaked to fit. Just an idea Claret and Cobalt is waving, Boys we're back of you. Play your way to victory We'll be ever true. Eager eyes are watching Hearts are beating fast, For Salt Lake's honor, FIGHT!, boys, to the last. The only audio I can find for it is from a graduation ceremony. You can hear it better on the second singing of it, when the band stops playing. (approx 48 secs) http://youtu.be/HpNmZucpIag
So what did you think, did the new songs work? I really didn't hear them, but perhaps I do not have the best ears. The chants for Ole and RSL were strong though. Kudos for that.
I think it was a victim of poor timing. By the time the subs started, everyone was way too worried about the score to think about getting on the new stuff.
If you want a song to sing try this one http://wearerealsaltlake.com/ I down loaded it and listen to it all the time.
I think that comment is exactly right. The starting point I believe is what the Royal Army's purpose is... uniting the Supporters so that we can have a more powerful impact on the game
After hearing the Timbers Army sing 'I can't help falling in love with you' at the end of the match on Saturday I am going to have to completely agree with this.
what blitzzfan said "love song" is a huge category, as well. I'm sure when Liverpool fans first starting singing 'You'll never walk alone' http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/You%27ll_Never_Walk_Alone it wasn't overly appealing to many
I know it goes 100% against my own "rules", but ******** it I really like this song and think the chorus would be cool to be heard by a bunch of people: [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jbs4pa6U0Yg"]YouTube - Panic! At The Disco: Let's Kill Tonight Lyrics‏[/ame] (starting at 0:25 through 1:07) - Its repeated after -
Hey all, I think this post should continue as it seems to be a very important topic for the SG for RSL. If we want to compete with the sounders SG and timbers army's of the MLS then we need to have some ammo to add to are arsenal. I like the idea posted about the red hills of utah song, I think this could really be something amazing. All it would take would to get a group together to learn the song, and I do have an idea for how to implement it. I would love to create a promo video like this[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Hckgwh7ryU"]GREAT!!FOOTBALL FANS SINGING! - YouTube[/ame] a promo with us singing the song we want to represent RSL, the SG, and Utah. I think it would separate us from the other SG because I personally cant find any great promo videos for any SG. By having a fun and entertaining video, it would in turn make people want to join us that like the atmosphere we create. This could be a great way to make a song like this work because in order to make this video we would need a group of us to memorize the song, thus we can then sing it at games because we have already put in the time to memorize the song. If we find a better song that we all like then we can easily switch it out and memorize that song... What do you think? and BTW YNWA was started in the 60's by liverpool after the song was a #1 hit in England, so we may need to have a popular song to have it catch on. But what do you guys think?
Scratch that one comment, the only SG with great videos is.... surprise surprise... the timbers. We can match that, we can beat that. RSL!
I think that it could possibly work out well. I mean, you never know how viral a movie might go. How many people have heard that idiot crying about the double rainbow?
While looking at the Royal Army fb page there was discussion of possible songs. They said the same things we've discussed here - the biggest thing being the song(s) needs to be popular/well known. Well, no matter what your views are on the company, Disney has cranked out some HUGE hits that (it's not a stereotype if its true) A LOT of the Utah/SLC/RSL fans in attendance would know. What Disney songs would work best? A couple ideas: - When You Wish Upon A Star (Pinochio) [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0zzfPOo2VGc&feature=related"]When You Wish Upon A Star- Original Soundtrack - YouTube[/ame] - So This is Love (Cinderella) [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DAVyGJGMbno&feature=related"]So This is Love (original version) - YouTube[/ame] - That's What Friends Are For (Jungle Book) [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dHenV6qzX_M"]That's What Friends are For (English) - YouTube[/ame] - Love (Robin Hood) [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9_HkHtimbik"]Disney's Robin Hood : Love : 720p HDTV - YouTube[/ame] - Go The Distance (Hercules) [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zve0_ZQLa0A"]Go the Distance- Hercules - YouTube[/ame]
I still like [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bTvU3BELZEo"]Righteous Brothers - Lost That Loving Feeling Lyrics - YouTube[/ame]
not popular, but I'm sure you guys can imagine why this song should be part of RSL in some way: [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sxeIivNDtFU"]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sxeIivNDtFU[/ame] I also like the idea of disney songs, Go The Distance was a good suggestion. (we could sing hakuna matata after losses?) I'm trying to think of some disney songs that no one has suggested yet, but the only two coming to mind are I Just Can't Wait to be King (Lion King) and I Won't Say I'm in Love (Hercules)
