I just purchased FIFA 2003 for the computer, and am planning on replacing the game's music with my own mp3s.

What songs pertaining to soccer would you recommend? They don't have to be in English.

To get things started, I'll name three songs which I plan on putting in the game:

    1. The UEFA Champions' League theme
    2. The Elvis "A Little Less Conversation" remix
    3. The Brazilian samba song from the '98 World Cup Airport commercial.

    What's your favorite soccer song?

"It's Football, Not F***ing Soccer" by Wat Tyler
"Terry Fenwick's Leg Takes Crack" by Wat Tyler

Available only on the Thatcher on Acid/Wat Tyler split CD release, "Yurp Thing" (Allied Records, 1991).

    Good luck finding it....

Actually I just downloaded a pretty funny song about David Beckham.

Here are some of the lyrics:

We all have moments of madness
    And we lose our heads
    We get road rage
    And we see red

We get angry and frustrated 100 times a day
But we don't all kick somebody
When we don't get our way
When we don't get our way

    And as for David Beckham
    Full of that raw agression
    It only took a second
    On the ground

I don't know what made him do it
There's no rhyme or reason to it
    But before he knew it
    He'd let us all down

Has anyone else heard this song? Do you know who sings it? It's a ridiculous little tune.

It may not be my favorite but it's been stuck in my head since June.

The World Cup 2002 Anthem by Vangelis.

As for the Beckham song, I downloaded it once too but got rid of it. Funny lyrics, crap/annoying song (not that it's meant to be great).

I loved this Euro'96 theme song. I also liked the France'98 remake of the song (with the clip of the announcer commenting on the final seconds up to Southgate's fatal kick).

    Euro'2000 song "Campeones" is great.

World Cup 2002 Vangelis one (as someone mentioned) is also great.

If you have a favorite club that has a song you might think of it as well.

Galatasaray has a catchy song called "Cim Bom Oy"
*I have no idea what the words mean as I'm not proficient by any stretch of hte imagination in Turkish.

For Korean fans, there was a song called "Into the Arena" by an artist named Shin Hae Chul. You have to listen to this song as it'll give you goosebumps.

Although they may not be footie-related I usually like the music on FIFA. Is 2003 as good as 02 (as far as music)?

Glad to hear I'm not the only one. I am actually considering replacing the N64 & PSX versions of FIFA that I sold on ebay to help pay for my PS2 just to get the tunes. I had '99(N64), 2000, and 2001. Loved most of the tunes, except for that "funk soul brother" garbage that started '99. Shoulda recorded 'em when I had the CDs.

I didn't have '02 (by then I'd given up on FIFA's crap gameplay and went with World Tour Soccer), so I can't say. But there are two tunes that I like. I'll post again later after I play again to give the titles.

Here's one, but I don't know the title...

..so I'll describe it. It's part of a "classical" piece, most of us have heard it a one time or another, orchestra and choir, sung in Latin, I think, and it may have been used for a soccer commercial before. For the musically literate among you, it's in 3/4 (IIRC) with big timpani and bass on the last two eighth notes in each measure, with words on each of the first four eighth notes. Minor. It builds, and everyone sings sixteenth notes toward the end, which resolves to a major chord fermata.

    root m3 m3 2 2 5 / repeat 4x
timp blah blah blah blah timp / repeat 4x

    root 4 4 m3 m3 5 /
timp blah blah blah blah timp/ etc...

There's no way to put real notation here, so I'm doing the best I can with intervals. For those who don't get this poor attempt, if you've seen the underground temple scene from the movie "Young Sherlock Holmes" or that WWF time when the Undertaker made his entrance with a bunch of guys dressed as Druids holding torches, you'll know this piece of music. The movie scene's music closely resembled this piece I'm trying to identify, but the Undertaker's entrance uses this exact music. Hope one of you can help. Thanks in advance.

    Lawmill, I owe you one.

I went to Yahoo!, typed in the title you gave, went to a site, clicked on the last movement -"Fortuna Imperatrix Mundi", and there it was. Keyboard MIDI, no lyrics (they're on the site- I can go back later), but thanks again. Did my description help (there were time signature changes I didn't remember), or had you seen the movie or the WWF match?

What's your favorite soccer song? [/B][/QUOTE]

Well, of all, I find "La copa de la vida" official song from World Cup 98 as the best I ever heard. The music by lyrics side is the best representation of what football(soccer) is. This song give me the emotion and energy I feel with football, the feeling of players, the feeling of goal. It catch exactly all this.
