That's okay, little league is more important than soccer anyways. and judging by the way people are arguing on this thread, I'm sure alot of them would agree with me. No wonder ref's seem to ignore obvious penalties when we treat this sport like crap.

Not to mention the new contract MLS/USMNT has with NBC. Starting next year NBC Sports Network (Versus) is going to show 38 matches, and the NBC network is going to show 2 regular season MLS matches, 2 playoffs, and 2 USMNT. This is a major coup for soccer in the United States.

Nobody said anything of the sort, quite the opposite, and none of this has anything to do with the refs.

The fact that the US-Mexico game did better than the Yankee Red Sox Sunday Night Baseball game is noteworthy. I feel that new fans always come in like driftwood washing up on a beach. Every summer there is always some major soccer tournament going that acts as that wave. We have new fans come in after the World Cup, after the Women's Cup, and I expect more to come after both Euro and the Olympics.

The only people that watch yankees vs redsox games are fans of either team. It's hard enough watching 1 mlb team. How can you expect people to watch the 2 most disliked teams in baseball.

Are you saying that a national broadcast of Brewers-vs.-Rockies would have done better?

It's also possible that ESPN viewers are completely sick of the Red Sox/Yankee rivalry as played up by ESPN. Yes, it's there, and yes, it's huge, but if you don't live in...oh, let's say Bristol, Connecticut, then it's not that big of a deal. So it might be that baseball fans from around the country are sick of the hype.

Or soccer is about to arrive and render every other sport obsolete.

I'm wondering about this NBC contract with MLS. Will the majority of the games be 1, 2 or 4:30 games in the summer when not much else is going on or will they actually put 7:30 primetime games on? The difference in amount of exposure is pretty significant.

I'm guessing that the games on the "mother network" will be early games (like ABC used to do), and the Versus games will be mostly evening.

    Still pretty significant in (non)exposure.

I'm excited about the US games on NBC and am hoping that a big friendly is going to be on the mother network and in primetime.

Maybe if they didn't play 18 times of year, with a wild card virtually guaranteeing they will both be in the playoffs short of an epic fail.
