I was just thinking about maybe adding a tri corner colonial hat to the skull, and maybe long hair coming down the back of the head like how Ben Franklin actual hair might look cool, and make the logo more personal and colonoal that way you still see the crack in the forehead and the bifocals and the oar, but is till more personalized. Just throwing it out there for you.
yeah, i think you mentioned that in the other thread, and i was thinking about adding the franklin-ish hair. i don't know if the tri-corner hat will hide the liberty bell crack, so i'm hesitant to try that idea out. but thanks again for the suggestions.
You could always tilt the hat up a little so you see the top of the head and the crack. I understand the hesitation to try it though
heres a little different version of the SOB logo...I think the bayonet is on the wrong side of the rifle but I think it works better than the scythe...
Maybe the bayonet and the scythe...I wanted a locally historic symbol in the logo and farm tools appear on all 3 tri-state flags
Bifocals, bifocals, bifocals. BTW If you get a chance, and like to learn more about Franklin, watch the PBS special. I watched it on my DVR over the last few months. Awesome.
the bayonet can be either top or bottom of the barrel ... where were these comments and suggestions 3 months ago? yikes. and don't worry, the bifocals, as part of the original concept, will remain in the final. the sketch, as shown, is just the basic form to which details will be added.
Not sure about the kite, but at least bifocals will give it something new and unique. Otherwise, it just looks like a Pirates of the Caribbean or Tampa Bay Bucs logo.
on the 14th/15th i hope you'll see something that kicks tail. in the meantime, should the rifle w/ bayonet be implemented? if so, in lieu of what, the scythe or oar?
Oars and rifle sound more Philly than a scythe. Unless of course, the stadium is out in Lancaster, than I would need to rethink this.
ask and ye shall receive. they're kinda crappy but i did em in like 5 mins...didnt put TOO much effort into it but you get the idea...want them doing anything? like slanting or on his forehead or anything like that or just leave em as is?

[insert maniacal laugh here] i didn't realize, until just now, that it's kind of similar to the barra brava logo. i might have to rethink some things, and come up with some tweaks, to make it seem not so blatant.
I'm not sure why you want the skull in the logo but here are some sugestions for having the skull logo more Philly/Franklin centric. Put Ben Franklin's cul-de-sac long hair on the skull Have the skull sitting on a prone kite Have the skull sitting on the Constitution with "We The People" showing Have the 13 circle of stars that Betsy Ross designed behind the skull A pole at the base of the skull and lightning bolts attacking it Put a backing like the Mummer have behind the skull and on that you can put any number of Phildelphia icons suck as the Independence Hall, City Hall, an out line of the city, etc. I would have drawn these options up for you but I see from previous postings that that is a touchy matter.

that was one of the things, accompanied by the bifocals, that was being considered to make it more franklin-ish ... and it might make it into the logo afterall. something like this would work with what i have in mind to make it less similar to barra brava's logo. lightning bolts are very graphic and bold ... maybe accompanied by the famous key ben used too. dude, i said i over-reacted ... but thanks for reminding me how much of a doosh i sounded like.
