Think we can take Hodgeson back from West Brom?

Honestly, I have no idea who may replace Hughes as manager.

I think Villa screwed him....Both parties are guilty here....I am sure Villa tried tapping him up and then backed out after he resigned....They are a cheap club so cant say i am surprised at that...

Who would you guys like to see next as your manager??....

Well, some of the names being thrown around are Martin Jol, Steve McLaren and Martin O'Neil. I know some in England may still not trust McLaren, but considering how England did at the World Cup, their missing EURO 2008 doesn't seem like his fault anymore.

Mclaren I feel would be a decent choice....But if Jol or O'Neil are interested then i would have either of them over Mclaren...Mclaren is a mixed bag...If you look at his managerial career too...you would see that there are far too many highs and lows....If you are looking for consistency in performances then i feel either one of Jol or O'Neil would be the right choice.....

I'd prefer Jol, though not sure why the Dutchman would give up the Ajax job. Seems a lateral move at best.

O'neil would be fine with me, though not the most exciting guy in the world.

I am not a fan of McClaren. Never have been.

Martinez has been bandied about as well. I don't really think that barely keeping Wigan up for 2 seasons is all that much of a selling point personally, but he did have Swansea playing pretty well in his time there, I guess.

Two things. First, Jol actually wanted to come to Fulham last year but Ajax blocked the move (my recollection is that he loves London and still has a house there).

Second, Jol is currently unemployed. He left Ajax last December.

I would hope the club has already contacted Jol. He'd be my first choice (just like last year) with O'Neil second.

Regarding Hughes, I thought he was a great fit for the club and someone who could really cement Fulham as a Top 10 club (similar to what Moyes has done with Everton), so I was originally pissed at him leaving. But then I realized that this move of his is so fundamentally stupid, that it's probably a good thing he's gone.

Right? Nothing like being the rebound relationship when you didn't realize that was what it was...

Agreed. Definitely an excellent managerial choice for Fulham.

In particular, I like the fact that Jol had his choice of openings and chose Fulham. This would indicate that he is aware of the limited funds that will be made available to him and is willing to work within those restrictions. So hopefully, he'll be around for and won't "wish to move on to further his experiences".

Now that it has been official, what does everyone think about Jol? Happy, yes?

Also, would you like Robbie Keane?

    http://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/2896...s-martin-jol-will-swoop-for-tottenham-striker

Keane just has done NOTHING at the club level over the past couple seasons, but he has the name recognition and I would guess he still has something left in the tank and wants to prove it.

Also, this article mentions a potential move for Espanyol striker Pablo Daniel Osvaldo, who I know nothing about.

I just have to say, I was surprised that Mark left. There toward the end of the season take away Liverpool game. Things were getting great and I started to like what he was doing. Then all of a sudden he is gone. Oh well. I welcome Mr. Jol and hope he hits the ground running and we take off good in the Europa League and the PL season.
