i just started playing it and I am having a blast. I named my team the Chipolte Burn. I am still new to ut so i still have quite of bit to learn. Just curious if there are any other wizards fans playing UT.

ok, I checked the last couple of pages of that and it seemed like they were not talking about fifa ultimate team
I played Ultimate team until the world cup game came out tuesday. Now I have moved on. My post in the video game threat about Ultimate team was pretty short. Something along the lines of "Best $5 you can spend"
Manager Mode was so broken, quite depressing really. However, 2010 World Cup is pretty great so far, just got the US out of qualifying and making my way through friendlies before the finals.
My first run through with the US had me getting torched by Eto'o in the opening group stage match causing me to finish second in the group after I won the other 2 games. Then everything seems to be fine until the game informed me both of the central mids I was using got injuries in training while one of my strikers was already injured. That combined with a really bad distribution on my part from my keeper lead to France beating me 1-0 in the second knock out round with Anelka sticking the ball in a more or less open net. My experience with that run though is that the US defense is kinda slow, and our scoring options are limited, so if you lose certain players to injuries or card suspensions, the game gets really tight. Charlie Davies can torch defenses at will though if you use him. Also the passing in the World Cup game has some quirks that I don't remember from Fifa10. Through balls and crosses work better now, but when you are trying a normal pass to a specific player sometimes the pass goes to space instead of the player. If there are 2 players in the same direction, often the pass will not go to the one you intended. This last quirk is how my keeper cost me the France game. I'm sure it picks which player the pass goes to based on how long you hold the button or something...
A bunch of us Wizards guys are having a FIFA WC tournament with the new game on May 16th. 2v2 on PS3. I made a post about it on the video game forum a couple weeks ago if anyone is interested. Right now we have about 8 teams. Hit me up if you having questions.
Yeah I got the world cup game to. My first play through I was playing as USA. I got first in my group. Of course during training in between the group stage and round 2 the injury bug hit my team and I ended up losing in the second round against Germany. To kasmatsu if you change everything to manual you control where the ball goes on everything. It defiantly takes some getting used to. But it just makes the game feel more real.
Pretty sure I have it on manual. Most of the time the ball goes where I want it, even if that is into open space... the problem seems to be like a random simulated "miss hit" Like I said, the passing and through balls are better than FIFA10. This just seems like a new wrinkle in simulated realism. Sometimes the result of the pass is nothing like you intended.
