You'll also get a ticket to the May 27th game against FC Dallas.

We are confident that you will enjoy the location in the 100-level Center Circle seats. In acknowledgement of any inconvenience this relocation may cause on Wednesday, we will provide you with one complimentary center circle ticket for you or a friend to attend the May 27th Chicago Fire vs. FC Dallas match for every Safeway Insurance Skyway ticket you have on May 19th. You will receive these with your relocation tickets on Wednesday.

It's not there chanting, it's them stomping on the aluminum stands. Stop by during the game and you'll know what I talking about. All the section 210 season ticket holders and fans don't sit there because of this.

From Len Ziehm's Sun-Times piece on SCIC:

Makelele has said in February that he would retire, but: "Today it's my last season, but tomorrow that could change." (skysports)

    1. I wish I could have made it over to Chi town for this game. PSG is one of my favorites.
    2. Why the hell are the tickets so overpriced? It's a Wednesday night game for crying out loud!
    3. Why is this not on TV? MLS needs to figure out how to get friendlies between its clubs and major Euro clubs on national TV. I would watch this over 90% of their "game of the week" games.

Frank is getting as good a luck at them as we are. Not sure what in hell else he needs to see from either one since both have been solid the entire season for PSG. We all know what they bring to the table and they continue to bring it. If this is going to happen--Giluy was on a radio station in Paris last week saying he's not leaving--It comes down to do they want to play in Chicago and can they make the money work. Bottomline, anything else is BullS..t.

Kee-kee has been back & forth all season in regards to his decision to keep playing and you know, he's earned the right to it. The man has delivered and been solid his entire career and was damn nearly called into France's WC team this season, he won't un retire from the National team otherwise he's playing next month.

This will be availble on PSGtv later tonight. If you wanna watch later, lemme know and I'll see if I can get you a copy. I have a subscription to it and would love to see the Fire come up with something similar.

I won't start on the date and time of the match nor the ticket prices since it's painfully obvious that whomever scheduled this event doesn't have a football brain. I mean, Friday & Sunday for this event makes too much Goddamn sense, right?

That's the Sun-Times story, the reality is Frank won't be looking at them as much as have an opportunity to maybe talk to them one on one. It's a lot easier to get a deal done in person.

I'm not strong on the rules on this. Are these guys in the last six months of their contracts? I think that is the standard for being able to talk to them and even then, can Frank really talk to them 1 on 1 and recruit? There are tampering rules, and I don't know the extent to which we can do much on this trip. Now if their agents are here, perhaps we can show them a good time. ;)

Technically, Kee-Kee can leave if he wants from my understanding and I believe Giuly has one year left but the talk of him being allowed to leave has been going on since January. I think they've chatted on the down low but not sure to what extent.

Fire and PSG have talked in the recent past, so assuming there are discussions, it's taking place with the higher ups in both organizations.

Johnson is getting the start today as keeper. The musical chairs at Forward continue with McBride once again the starter.

Ok. Clearly, there would be no tampering if there were permission to talk directly to the player.

In that case, after the game, we should arrange for the owner of Buddy Guy's Legend's to take the stage at his new club, sit these two at a table in the front, plop the contracts on the table at about 2 a.m., and hold the press conference announcing the signings on Friday. :D

I am not clear on this either because the pre-contract RB has with Henry seems like tampering to me, unless Barca gave RB permission to talk to Henry. Same thing may be the case here. I remember when the Beckham deal got done Lieweke was very clear that they never spoke to Beckham until the transfer window opened up and the last 6 months of Beckham's contract with RM began.

Exactly what I was thinking. It gives them a chance to see the pitch, the training facilities, the fans and, of course, our fair city.

It's hard to know what the average UEFA player thinks of the MLS, whether they imagine that it's all empty American football stadiums with astroturf and hash-markings or whether they overestimate it in some way. My gut tells me most of them would underestimate the level of facilities and level of play, perhaps even the fans, and maybe coming to visit for these friendlies instills some goodwill and boosts the rep of the league and the franchise.

So let's hope it's not a bunch of long-balls and fouls and an empty stadium. That's the job of other MLS teams.

After reading this story, I hope Frank talks to this kid.

It sounds like he already bleeds Fire red.

Better scheduling and prices would have been the best way to start with that...
Frankly I'm happy with either Giuly or Makelele being picked up. Two great players with positive histories & personalities. There is generally no negative press on either, that I am aware of. Makelele plays a similar style to Armas, but on that higher level. Definitely a good fit for the Fire.

    Actually you'll be amazed at
    1. How much this league is followed and how many of these guys know people
in the US and especially a major city like Chicago.
    2. How often people talk, and
    3. Who's visited stadiums, attended matches and everything else.

It would seriously blow you outta the water. I'll put it to you this way, I know a guy who's brother played with Henry at Monaco and this guy lives in Chicago. I know a guy who played for Roma back in the day and he lives in Chicago and that's just for starters. It's truly a small world, so alot of these guys know alot more about what's going on here than any of us can only imagine. Keep in mind this is just what I know and these guys currently don't work in soccer.

Just back from another inept offensive performance by the Fire losing 1-0. Don't know actual announced attendance but pretty small crowd.

    More like half that 2,300.

WOW, the was horrible. That had to be one of the worse games I've been to 13 years.

I love our 5 man defense (Krol,Conde,Brown,Robinson and Pause), so were playing a 5-4-1 formation. Pause might as well be a defender, he's only 10 yards in front of Conde and Brown.

The only players that showed up (somewhat) were Conde and Krol. We almost scored a goal (Brown), it would of been in our net, but it would of been a goal.

Do we even have a midfield anymore, no wonder the defense and goalie are just kicking the ball up field, because we have NO midfield to pass to. Martinez what a watse, he's gettting pushed around like a rag doll. Pause if you pass it to him, he'll either pass it back to you or to the goalie. Husidic if he had an extra 5 second on every play he would be an All-Star. Nyarko same as Martinez, doesn't know when to shot or pass. Pappa how many good games has he had one or two, he has a good game then disappears for 4 or 5 games.

All this and PSG played like shit and they still made us look like shit.

This is going to be a VERY long year, I know Klopas said this isn't a rebuilding year, but it's a rebuilding year.

I just hope we sign Conde and Krol to long contracts, because if there not here next year, next year will rebuilding part #2.

Guily left in the 29th minute, did we sign him and tell them to get him out of there.
