Perhaps it's time for a new thread. The link to the old silly season thread : http://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/showthread.php?t=617025&page=18 Nicolai Boilesen to Ajax Amsterdam Brøndby are losing Denmarks perhaps biggest defensive talent to Ajax Amsterdam. The 17-yo left-footed defender/centre back Nicolai Boilesen, who is said to be Brøndbys biggest defensive talent since Daniel Agger and also a young player with the exact same kind of qualities as Agger, would not agree to extend his youth contract with Brøndby and is leaving the club on a free transfer this winter, to join fellow Dane Christian Eriksen at Jong Ajax (the Ajax reserves) on a 3½-year contract. Though the young Danish U19 NT Star is leaving on a free transfer, Brøndby are entitled to a youth-compensation fee of around €500k. .
The Scandinavian transfer market 2010 Ther is not all that much $$ out there to be spend by the clubs this winter. In Norway it seems that several clubs are in deep financial trouble, I guess mainly because of all the $$ they have invested in new bigger and better stadiums the past several years..... In Denmark this past seasons turnovers have revealed huge deficits, not so much because of the football business, but because danish clubs also invest in other sports and unrelated business, which have been struck by the financial crisis. It's the same pattern all over Europe, so the clubs cant really expect to cover their losses by selling players. The trend in Denmark is to shrink the size of the squads from perhaps 30-36 players to a smaller squad of 22-26 players, so that it is the more average squad players who are now going to lose their jobs, while the clubs try to keep their regular starters and younger talents. If they need to make bigger cuts, it's mainly the more expensive foreign players who are axed, especially if their contracts are about to expire. Rander FC are surprisingly heading for relegation, which financially of course will be a double disaster for the club. So they are already trying to cut their losses in mid season, instead of just waiting and hoping for better results. They have so far made a deal with Tobias Grahn, releasing him from his contract straight away. Allan K. Jepsen is surely not going to get his contract extended, while I'm also sure both José Júnior and Esben Hansen are returning to FCK and OB Odense this winter, when the loan deals expire... Ther will surely be more players leaving the club, while they have only signed two players, both on free transfers. The Armenian striker Yura Movsisyan who join the club from Real Salt Lake and the SønderjyskE centre back Anders Egholm, who has just signed a 3-year deal with Randers. FC Midtjylland are also in a bit of trouble, and trying to get rid of Arek Onyszko and Danny Califf, who have been told that they need to find new clubs. FCM have also agreed to release the Croatian defender Filip Marcic from his contract, while the Danish striker Poul Hübertz is not going to get his short-term contract extended. .
FC København in financial trouble The latest financial reports from FCK has revealed a huge US$ 50 million deficit (yes, $50 million !!) this season... Money lost on unrelated business, so the club now is in big financial trouble and are going to rely more on developing own youth players in the future, rather than buying their way to success. The club will also be forced to make major changes to their ways of doing business in the future and perhaps they need to sell a player or two as well.. They are not going bankrupt though, because they have been promised a helping hand of no less than $100 million (by their Bank and other big investors), to cover their losses and an expected future loss the next seasons to come. In other words, they have been on the very brink of bankruptcy and would not have been able to survive without the $100 million they are getting now. So it's not money they can use on new players. .
Can someone tell me more about Boilesen? If he is as talented as Christian Eriksen is then I am very happy he will go to Ajax!
Thanks for the interesting perspective Ceres. Curious to see how the Randers situation play out. As you mentioned, Yura Movsisyan joins them from Real Salt Lake. I'm not sure why he signed with that club other than for money and I guess Euro experience. Otherwise, Yura played well enough to get a new contract from RSL or could have tried to get on with another MLS or more financially stable, smaller 1st division Euro league club rather than Randers.
Danish Superliga clubs especially seem to be developing some top class centre backs at the moment and he is regardet to be the biggets Danish centre back talent besides Simon Kjær and with the same kind of qualities as Daniel Agger, so yes, I would say that he is regarded to be as talent as a Christian Eriksen. .
Only to a lesser extend... it was especially a huge loss on fitness.dk, some sort of holiday resort project in Italy that turned out horrible bad, FCK handball and finally they had a deficit on their transfer budget of DKK 68 million (around US$ 13.6 million).... all-in-all a US$ 50 million loss. .
To be fair, Randers did finish 5th last season and I doubt anybody seriously thought Randers would be in this situation when this season started.
Rasmus Lindgren to Brøndby IF ? According to danish news media, Brøndby IF especially seem to have their eye on getting the 25-yo Swedish defensive midfielder Rasmus Lindgren who is keen on leaving Dutch Eredivisie side Ajax Amsterdam this winter. Apparently Brøndby have made a €2.5 million bid on the Swedish international. .
Prior to the beginning of the 2009 MLS season (which just ended with Real Salt lake winning the championship) Yura informed RSL that he wanted to play in Europe after the season ended. I guess Randers is who his agent was able to work with. There is, apparently, a relegation clause in the Randers/Yura contract that if Randers is relegated, the contract is nullified and Yura can sign elsewhere.
Ólafur Ingi Skúlason to SønderjyskE Danish Superliga side SønderjyskE have signed a 3-year contract with 26-yo defensive midfielder Ólafur Ingi Skúlason. The Icelandic International is to join SønderjyskE from Swedish side Helsingborgs IF. While Sønderjyske has signed a new Icelandic player, they on the other hand seem to be losing Sölvi Ottesen this winter. Sunderland and Fulham representatives were in place to watch the strong Icelandic centre back when SønderjyskE beat AaB Aalborg by 2-0 in this weeks round of the Superliga. Björn Runström on trial at Ascoli When Swedish striker Björn Runström moved from Fulham to Danish Superliga side OB Odense, they had high hopes for the future. But he has not really achieved the expected success in the Danish Superliga and since Odense do not intend to make use of him, they have now allowed him to go on trial at Italian 2nd level side Ascoli, in hope that they will take him off their hands. Rasmus Lindgren to Brøndby IF ? Danish Superliga side Brøndby IF seem highly interested in signing the 25-yo Swedish defensive midfielder Rasmus Lindgren from Dutch Eredivisie side Ajax Amsterdam, that also seem interested in parting with their Swedish midfielder. However, the two clubs still seem to be arguing about a youth-compensation fee in connection with the Nicolai Boilesen transfer from Brøndby to Ajax earlier this month. So the question is if they will be able to come to a final agreement over the deals. Lindgren has won two caps for Sweden. .
Thomas Gaardsøe to Esbjerg Danish Superliga side Esbjerg have signed a 3-year contract with 30-yo centre back Thomas Gaardsøe, who surprisingly returned from retirement earlier this year, signing a short-term deal with AaB Aalborg, that now is about to expire. The former Ipswich and West Bromwich defender has won 2 caps for Denmark. .
Christopher Poulsen and Lasse Heinze to Silkeborg Danish Superliga side Silkeborg have reinforced their team by signing a 3½-year contract with the 23-yo goalkeeper Lasse Heinze and a 4-year contract with 28-yo left back Christopher Poulsen. Both players are to join Silkeborg from league rivals FC Midtjylland this winter. The transfer fees have not been disclosed, but is rumoured to be less than €500k for the two players. Christopher Poulsen has won 2 caps for Denmark. .
Clarence Goodson to Ceres / Copenhagen / [Denmark] / [Germany] / [Scandinavia] Any thing new on this one I saw on another thread?
No news about this... Ther is btw no team called 'Ceres' ... this is just a mistake, because I was the one being quoted for bringing the news/rumor. .
Sekou Oliseh to CSKA Moscow Danish Superliga side FC Midtjylland have sold the 19-yo midfielder/striker Sekou Oliseh to Russian side CSKA Moscow. The Russians decided to buy the young Nigerian player after he had been on loan at the club for the past 6 month. The transfer fee has not been disclosed, but is rumoured to be $590k (€400k) + a 10% clause of the next sale, if CSKA Moscow is able to sell him at a later point in time. .
Gunnar Heiðar Torvaldsson on loan to Reading FC The 27-yo Icelandic international Gunnar Heiðar Torvaldsson has only played 30 minutes in the Danish Superliga for Esbjerg this season, so they have been keen on finding him a new club this winter. Since he has impressed while being on trial at English 2nd level side Reading FC, scoring twice in a match against Bristol Rovers, Reading have now agreed to sign a loan deal for the rest of this season, with an option to buy the Icelandic striker at a fixed price, at the end of the season. .
Michael Lumb to FC Zenit Saint Petersburg Danish Superliga side AGF Aarhus have sold the highly talented 22-yo left back Michael Lumb to Russian side FC Zenit. The transfer fee has not been disclosed, but according to AGF director of Sport, the transfer fee is just around the same as when AGF sold Morten 'Duncan' Rasmussen to Brøndby and Leon Andreasen to Werder Bremen. The rumours say somewhere between US$2.3 million to $3.5 million. Nando Rafael on loan to FC Augsburg AGF have also sent the 26-yo former German U21 International Nando Rafael on loan to German 2. Bundesliga side FC Augsburg for the rest of this season. The reason being that the AGF coach now seem to prefer to use Davit Devdariani as the 2nd striker (behind Peter Graulund) and Nando is too expensive to be warming the bench. .
Remco van der Schaaf on loan to Brøndby IF Brøndby IF have (once again) signed the 30-yo Dutch holding midfielder Remco van der Schaaf on a loan deal for the next 1½-years (to the end of his contract with Burnley). The former Dutch U21 International has played 152 Dutch Eredivisie games for Vitesse and also 39 league games for PSV Eindhoven, besides also playing Champions League for the club. However, while staying at Burnley he was sidelined with a kidney problem thought to be related to a virus. He later recovered from this illness and moved on his first loan deal to Brøndby. In the summer of 2009 he returned to Burnley, but now he is back. .
Morten "Duncan" Rasmussen to Celtic FC According to the Danish newspaper Ekstra Bladet and Sporten.dk, then Brøndby IF have sold their 24-yo Superliga topscorer Morten "Duncan" Rasmussen to Scottish giants Celtic FC. Sporten.dk report the transfer fee to be 1.75 million Euro. "Duncan" has so far won 3 caps for Denmark. .
The 21-yo American defender Amaechi Igwe is on trial with Danish 2nd level side Vejle BK this week : http://translate.google.com/transla...-tester-amerikaner_3&sl=da&tl=en&hl=&ie=UTF-8 .
Several actual offers on Palermos young Danish centre back Simon Kjær http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11854_5876633,00.html Manchester City, Tottenham and Manchester United have been linked with Simon Kjær and the rumour is that Tottenham has offererd Palermo £11 million.
Dennis Cagara to AGF Aarhus According to AGF Aarhus own official website, they have signed a short 5-month contract (to the end of this season) with the 24-yo left back Dennis Cagara, who join AGF on a free transfer from FC Nordsjælland. AGF btw seem very close to picking up Danish international Martin Jørgensen from Fiorentina, but they have a bit of trouble finding the needed $$ on the wage budget. .
