One of the waiters at my neighborhood burger joint last night was wearing a Terminus Legion or Brigade or whatnot t-shirt. His turnaround time with our order was not as fast as his adoption of the hipster/supporter image, unfortunately.
Was at Disney World a few weekends ago and was disappointed with the low amount of MLS gear compared to my usual trips. Only saw one jersey the whole time (3 days) and it was a Galaxy one; saw no t-shirts or other apparel.
I met the guy who taught Kyle Beckerman how to fly fish at Legoland CA LOL He was wearing a Beckerman RSL t shirt.
Not really a MLS sighting, but "the greatest red headed athlete in human history," Alexi Lalas, made an appearance on Mixology (not that I watch it).
Driving around town at 6:45 am on Wednesday, I spotted a Portland Timbers Oregon state outline window decal on the back of a luxury sedan in Houston of all places.
There was another prime-time sign of MLS Thursday night. On Parks and Recreation, Donna said "I like to do things... museums, operas, night clubs. Sometimes I disappear for a day or two because I'm fly-fishing or I'm at a Seattle Sounders game. I promise not to cheat on you if you promise not to try to pin me down too fast." //Yes, I watch too much television. //No, there's no such thing as too much television.
Sigh.... looks like Gonzalez is starting to become an internet sensation. This is on 9gag's hot page: http://9gag.com/gag/anYWEyL Poor sportsmanship
Elizabethtown Kentucky kids soccer practice.. spotted kid approx. 7 years old wearing Sounders jersey.
My wife, my son, and I are all home sick today and we had on the Price is Right. When one girl was spinning the big wheel she yelled out "Go Seahawks! Go Sounders!" Drew Carey then went on to repeat "Go Sounders" about four more times.
Wonder what happens when someone says go Timbers!... Does drew confiscate the plinko chips or do u get spayed/neutered on the spot?
I'm not a big fan of this thread as I don't see it's point, as MLS has been an everyday part of my for a decade plus, but I've seen a lot of PNW team's gear around town here this tourist season, particularly Sounders and Timbers. I saw one old dude walking his his dog in my neighborhood kitted out in a full Timbers Uni. (which is why I'm posting this at all) Inaugural season kit (shirt and shorts, doubt socks as most tourist here wear flip-flops 24/7) That is worthy of note.
Got back from a four day trip to the NYC metro area. While I spent most of the time in Ridgewood, Queens I only saw anything MLS today: a Red Bulls jacket on the train from NJ to Manhattan, a Red Bulls backpack at Penn Station, and an NYCFC season ticket ad on a bus stop on what I think was Madison Ave.
http://ny.curbed.com/archives/2014/..._nails_manhattan_neighborhood_stereotypes.php Unexpected Red Bull reference...
At Church Hill downs yesterday spotted a Centennial jersey on a rather obese fellow (nice big ad I suppose) and about 3 US soccer jackets. Some lady down from Kansas City said she was up for the Derby claimed there was really nothing to do at home so I casually asked "what about SKC" and she recognized and said "Sporting is great and she has season tickets" apparently its weekdays that sucks..
It makes sense, since Seattle invented prime-time Thursday night television. I was watching also and about jumped off the couch when she said that.
