I notice this also a few posts back. You are getting ready for when Nery explodes in the world cup and you have to eat your words. When it happens you are going to turn the words around and say something like "oh, I always said he was good, but he needed to get in shape, blah blah blah."

seriously, it will be among those lines.;)

I'm not trying to kick him while hes down ,he just seems like an emotional unstable person tragedies or not, hopefully hes doing better now but if he still has issues then the N.T. is no place for him, that being said hopefully he can get out of his contract and find a new team..

In the end, it's the coach's choice, and we've heard from Martin that Aguirre likes Nery.

Here's how it will play out.

1-Carrillo is checking out the Euros right now, but I don't know if he'll be able to check Castillo out.
2-Aguirre will call him up for the FIFA date whether he is playing or not.
3-FMF will try to get Nery release early, it probably won't happen.
4-Aguirre will have Nery join the squad in Europe in mid to late May.

I just don't see Nery getting any playing time before then. Aguirre will still probably want to take a look for himself to see if he takes him to the World Cup. Unless something crazy happens during the NZ callup, Aguirre will be making his decision in May/June, and he'll have just a couple of weeks to do so. But given he was happy calling Franco up from vacation to play in the Gold Cup, I don't think he's terribly worried about calling up Nery without playing time.

In the end, and looking at the forward slots, I think Aguirre will have him on his final roster.

If the NNRs weren't so trollable, there would have been less, um, trolling.

Lesson for NNRs: Don't feed the troll(s)! :D

Go back a few pages noob. I said I would be ok with him getting the call for the first two or three friendlies to see if he turns around, If he doesn't, forget about him and move on with the final team. That has not changed. My problem is with people like you that don't listen to any opinions and want the guy in not matter what. That would not be fair if he is not in form by the time the WC comes around and they leave behind someone who really deserved to go instead. I also said from the very beginning that it would not surprised me if Aguirre takes him anyway. The Mexican team is so lacking in that position that they may just count on his potential as the deciding factor.

I am going to call b.s. here. As one of the Anti-NNR... I think the whole thread is the NNR's fault...

    > The Anti-NNR likes Nery and wants to see him get back in form and contribute to the Mexican NT

    > The Anti-NNR is pissed that the NNR puts down other deserving young Mexican players like Chicharito because the NNR feels that every other young Mexican attacker who is succeeding is a threat to Nery's spot on El Tri's bench. Don't hate on other guys showing good performance & who have full allegiance to Mexico, without any of the drama just because you have a mancrush on Nery... let them get their shot.

    > The Anti-NNR realizes that Nery is in a hole... that he has had chances to get out, yet he dug it deeper.. and he is not likely to get out by June. Best case scenario... he goes to South Africa and becomes a Super Sub coming off the bench... but there is no way he is going to be a starter or score a gang of goals... so we the truth is we have to find somebody else's nuts to hang off for this summer.

    > The Anti-NNR realizes that Nery just hasn't produced for Mexico in the last two years. Not because he lacks talent... but because even Messi would be schitt at the world class level if he didn't play for two years.

    > The NNR brought it on to themselves with their ridiculous, childish posts... as others said they are very troll-able... they aren't being kicked because they are down.. they are kicked because they have the gall to hate on other players. That is like the Republicans thinking they should run the country even they are a small minority in power.

Well here goes my two "newbie" cents...

First off players such as Sabah and cuah should not be with the nt in sa. Sure Sabah has maybe the best minutes/goal but seriously that's cuz he comes off the bench and puts in a crap goal from the ball bouncing in the area. And cuah man the guys old as hell why take him knowing full well he's gonna get subbed after 55 minutes. Sure they both have some talent but its concacaf skill not world cup skill what is world cup skill? Talent and speed something they don't have and nery gio vela and even chicharito have. And why not take all 4 of them I mean heck they are all attacking players but can play in various positions especially vela and gio. Nery needs to be called up the the friendlies and get his form back because he is in his prime and can give te other youngsters the confidence they need up in front when attacking. Nery needs to be in sa aswell I'm my opinion but not without working his ass off to get there. And this smack talking on these four players is stupid I'll tell u right now gio vela and if chicharito can really provide then they are our future strikers don't hit prime til mid 20s usually ofcourse there are exeptions. But with a great inform nery then Mexico will prove to be a great attacking powerhouse. I say take them all and play them all let them gain confidence con la verde and though sa might not be our best showing at a wc u bet ur ass for 2014 Mexican strikers will no longer be an issue. But in the end it's aguirres choice ( my last names aguirre no relation unfortunately... I think) and like they say in the vela thread in wenger I trust well in aguirre I trust and I hope he realizes the asset nery is to our youngsters and our attatcking play

But a far as nery goes I hope he makes a recovery in time I think he's a major asset he's the only true striker For Mexico who played successfuly in Europe the others are barely on their way there and they can benefit from playing alongside nery

If Cuah does not go, so be it...

But you almost lost me when you say Cuah has no talent... if it isn't talent how else can an old slow guy make such an impact? Are you new to BS, or new to the sport? ... you have valid points about taking youth, but our biggest void is at the playmaker/talent spot, Gio may not be ready, Bofo and his valium style of play is not NT material...

Also, please don't put Sabah and Cuah on the same sentece...

    welcome noob.

    peace

Nope. The Nery haters are to blame for this thread going to shit, as well as the Nery thread in the abroad forum.

In fact, you people are predictable that I'm starting to think Talltowerman created this thread to keep you guys here and leave the Abroad forum clean.

Now I have to call bullshit. Most comments from the haters are just rants about how we are wasting our time, and Nery is never going to recover. etc. lately some like Metalmaster have been changing their rhetoric to avoid looking like fools when Nery recovers, but for the most part, the haters, continue hating.

Again... bullshit. I'm actually a big Chicharito fan, every since the wc u-20, and I believe he has already earned a chance to play for el tri. I say this, because he seems to have genuine talent, rather than opportunistic abilities. Bravo had the ability to the take the opportunity to score. His goals were largely by luck, he would just push the ball in, just like Kikin Fonseca, but when the mid-field is unable to create enough plays, they are worthless. This is why Bravo is a club player, and not even. Chicharito in the other hand, I believe has great talent, and I don't think we can afford to pass the opportunity of playing him in the NT.

The problem is that the haters started making it a Chicharito vs Nery discussion, which I largely tried to stay away from. Pern didn't, he pointed out that Chicharito had not proven himself in the NT like Nery did, regardless of his current form, but even then, Pern has not said anything about giving Chicharito a chance to prove himself. Pern is only warning against the hype that we often create about players that are just having a good time with their clubs, but do not deliver with the NT. And this hype is often concentrated among the Chivas players.

Again... Bullshit. there are no guarantees of anything in this world, but to say that "there is no way" its just idiotic, (no insult intended, I just cant think of a better word to describe it.)

First of all, Aguirre will decides who starts, and if Nery recovers his rythm and confidence, I doubt Aguirre will keep him in the bench at the begging of the games.

Second, he is a striker, if he plays the 90 mins consistently, with his talent, it wont be hard to score, so again... there is a way.;)

I don't think the haters realize anything, but aside form that, I agree the lack of play will affect him, but he can still recover in time for the world cup. A guy like Nery would not stop training, just because he doesn't play.

I know we are a minority, but this the NT is not a democracy. We gotta take the best not the most popular. And as we've stated many times before, we are not "troll-able" which just can't stand for this bullshit. Somebody has to speak out.

Listen up - you who posts things that are idiotic esquincle caliber... I don't mean that as an insult... that is the only phrase I can think of - no one here hates Nery. Instead you & Pern go so over board with your mancrush on Nery.. and your defending legitimate criticism that the Anti-NNR has decided to troll you & wind you up. There are no BS Mex posters that hate Nery... Carlos Albert, the Fut Picante idiots and some other journalists might genuinely hate him... but there are no BS Mex posters that do... that is all in your mind. Get your head out from el oberderrr... and you will see clearly.
