I think I speak for all Fire fans when I say, "WHO?!?"

I certainly hope this is not our big Designated Player signing.

His value on transfermarkt.co.uk is about 800,000 euro.

He is, apparently, still under contract in Belgium, so a transfer would likely be required.

I don't think there is need to gnash teeth and moan yet, this guy is a very tall striker. Diversity in the Fire's attack has kinda been the thing us fans have been concerned about since open of season yeah? Long boots to Oduro were only going to pay off so many times. So they've brought in Rolfe2.0, the Brazilian, and now a tall euro schooled journeyman pro. If this is truly a done deal, this looks to my humble spider senses like a Klopas nuts and bolts move, and not a romantic decision made after too much caña at the asado. So I won't complain about the guy until I see him play live, and will continue to look forward to a decent DP signing announcement.

but all optimism and trust aside, I hope the Fire don't rely on him for too many corners....:D

Well, whenever we've brought a player in with only a few YouTube highlights to go off of, we haven't had much success. Maybe having a player with YouTube lowlights will yield the opposite?

Don't get me wrong, I am always happy when they try something new.

However, I don't think I will be the only one disappointed if this is our big our signing for the summer.

If this is a done deal, good luck to him and the Fire. I will applaud him when he arrives.

Collins John had a very good pedigree in England with Fulham (and Twente) prior to coming to MLS.

However, I am not sure if the comparison is not apt.

BTW, Collins John is now playing in Iran, after playing for a team in Azerbaijan (managed by Tony Adams).

I think Sherjill is Dutch for Puppo,Chaves, Peurari, Barrouch,Dube, Ferrari

Strictly translated it means average to nominal player just here to take up a roster space with minimal to no contribution on the field

MacDonald has spend time in the Ajax academy since he was 13. He left when he was 17 for Anderlecht because back then he was considered a big talent and they wanted him for their 1st team. Ajax had Ibrahimovich, Mido, van der Meyde, Litmanen, VDV and Pienaar back then in the squad and the likes of Sneijder coming through so he thought he made the right choice.

His time at Anderlecht was a failure because expectations were too high and he couldn't adept to Brussels. He basicly wasted a lot of years being loaned out to clubs in Holland, Germany and England until he signed for Roeselare and impressed there. Anderlecht wanted him back and offered him a contract, but he could earn more at Beerschot so he went there instead and has become some kind of a crowd favourite. They are sad that he has left and don't understand why he prefers the MLS.

Looking at the stats it doesn't seem that he's the most prolific around, but what he lacks in goalscoring he has plenty to offer when it comes to pace and workmanship. Good in the air as well.

No way we're making this guy a DP I hope. To let Grazzini go to bring in this guy though seems rather foolish.

You mean he'll dehydrate and cramp in only 55 minutes of game time and miss an obscene number of gimme goals?

So there is a tranfer fee for him (tranfer fee + salary). If we didn't buy it down with alloment money he'll become our 2nd DP (Puppo 1st). Atleast he's a Klopas guy, so he'll atleast play him....right (bad or good). So if we bring in a BIG name DP, we will have to pay an extra $250,000 to get a third DP.

A bit off topic but does letting Dube go open up a foreign spot for us or did he have a green card?

I don't know why we are going for this type of striker from over in Europe... I'm sure he is going to cost us a pretty good sum to.
