Sheffield Wednesday will host Charlton Athletic in the Fifth Round of the FA Cup. Both clubs are in League Championship, and if Fulham beats Sheffield United (who I'm assuming are rivals with Sheffield Wednesday) in a Fourth Round Replay, Sheffield Wednesday will be the home club in the only Fifth Round game where neither club is in the Premier League. Since Manchester City hosts Chelsea and Arsenal hosts Liverpool, if Sheffield Wednesday advances to the Sixth Round (Quarterfinals) they will have outlasted Tottenham, Manchester United, and two of the clubs I mentioned at the beginning of this sentence. What's the best Sheffield Wednesday has ever done in the FA Cup?
they've won it thrice, though few will remember it as the last time was in 1935. they've been to the final as recently as 1993, when they lost to arsenal 2-1 in a replay.
charlton at s6... that's a good draw considering what was left. either get a glamorous club or get a winnable game at home. would love to see us march on.
1-1 draw with mil wall. also they had us wearing a new white kit! brace yerself for all the L**ds comparisons...
was really going to be disappointed that we weren't able to get the 3 points today against barnsley being up a man for so long, but maguire saves us at the very end... what, 5 minutes into stoppage? hell yes. fantastic.
wow. a comfortable win away at reading? with all the defensive injuries? reading play some decent stuff, and Wednesday have had some truly dreadful days there over the last however many years. I really didn't see that coming. nine points clear of the drop now. things are looking up a bit.

uhhhh, i wish we were that dominant. still, this was totally unexpected and i'll take 2-0 any day of the week. EDIT: nevermind. i see what you did... took the two games this season combined. after the hidings that we've taken from them the past couple of seasons, i'd say turnabout is fair play.
still haven't seen it. i will take your word for it. how big of an argument are you prepared to make @owlsalive ?
i was joking. nothing. you could argue that he should do a little better acting job. but this same scenario happened to me in the season opener and BW shouted me down. that is why i took my sabbatical from there. i've already seen dissenting opinions on this over there. he should have been carded for that dive.
ok ... one home victory against a struggling Charlton team from a cup quarterfinal ... against the struggling-in-the-third-tier pigs. I know, I know ... they'll probably fook it up in one of 'em ... but the owls are within touching distance of a semi-final trip to wembley. crikey, I'm pissed that I've already shelled out for a trip over in march. if they go to wembley I'm going to be genuinely tempted to piss away another grand to get there. how great - how fooking great?! - would that be? to see Wednesday at wembley? fook me.
and how did you find out? i realize here are a million ways but i ket waiting for one of the lads at @OA to reply...
