i will be at hillsborough for both huddersfield and bolton in the week to come. i will take a moment there to spare a thought for the three or four regular contributors to this thread, and perhaps even raise a pint of john smiths extra bastard smooth in the new barrack tavern in your hono(u)r. you're welcome.
You look half decent going forward but your defence is awful, if you sort that out you should be mid table.
hopefully, gardener and taylor will be the starting centerbacks tonight. buxton is out, though, and i've not much confidence in the fullbacks no matter who plays there. hell, i don't have much confidence in gardner and taylor, for that matter. hopefully, we'll boss the midfield, control possession, and bothroyd has his scoring boots on. 3-2, thank you and goodnight.
i'm not sure you do. admittedly, the huddersfield town game wasn't quite as bad as the scoreline indicated. but the bolton game, in my opinion, was worse. i've watched a lot of shit football over the last week. thank fook for grimsby town - otherwise it'd've all been shyte.* *actually, everton/newcastle was quite good, but that was a long time ago, and has been obscured by the wretchedness that's come thereafter.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/19882777? dave jones gets the dreaded 'vote of confidence'. they'd better get something from leeds.
i don't understand how everything has completely gone off the rails so suddenly. he didn't lose for what, 17 straight matches, we hit a wall, and now we haven't won in 8-9? we're NEVER going to get out of this cycle if everyone keeps pushing for managerial changes year after year. dave jones isn't as good of a manager as when we went on our undefeated run, and he's not as bad of a manager as he appears during our current run of poor form. i'll be honest, i barely know who's on the squad anymore. who can keep up with all the new faces each of these new managers keep bringing in?
agreed wth both of you guys. @kcsupporter: it's not just me then. i look at the roster on gamecast and just scratch my head.
in jones' defense, they've moved up a division, which means bringing on players isn't just an issue of not wanting megson's, but of needing higher quality. and looking at what he's brought in, you'd have to say that it's definitely quality - by championship standards. but he's clearly got the chemistry wrong, somehow (which is obviously easier to claim than to identify and correct). i hate the instability of managerial merry-go-round, as well; but something's surely missing there, and if dave jones can't identify and correct it, milan will have to find someone who can. it's frustrating because burnley suggested that he'd found some answers in attack (and in commitment), whereas the defensive issues remained ... then they tightened up at the back a bit last weekend, but looked as anemic as ever going forward. it's a long 46 games in the championship, and as long as mid-table stability is the goal for '12-'13, i'd be inclined to give jones more time. but mandaric just doesn't work that way.
i don't disagree. i just doubt he gets 'another few'. he needs to get something sorted by the leeds game, i fear.
http://www.beinsport.tv sorry just saw the last 2 minutes ... i did not know it was on. replay @8cst 9est
dirty leeds. they should punish them by banning all home fans at elland road when we go there. allow away fans, but ban them. that'd learn 'em.
that's more like it! ipswich are a bit crap, of course; but it sounds like wednesday had been looking better recently, despite the poor results. that'll take a bit of pressure off of d.jones, though, and perhaps the lads, as well. alot of the fellas over there are confident that they'll kick on from this. roll on peterborough.
