I like it. I almost wonder if we should have an "Elimination" Sheep Draft where players are "knocked out" - rather than receive sheep (or a second sheep).

    Congratulations, @Sammer's Hammer!

I knew you were after Eusebio or Ronaldo. I couldn't risk leaving Maradona open to someone else in the third round, so I knew you might sneak through. Was hoping you might have burned out your chances in first two pick sets.

You weren't the intended target though of course I knew you we're looking for a striker.

Depending on interest/draft fatigue, I could start in a couple of weeks.

I think we blocked each other on atleast 5 total players in the normal rounds as well.

There was no way they were going anywhere! Although it'll be interesting to see how many actually tried them. We did well to cover them between us anyway yeah and I think I've spotted already Maradona was covered on all 3 picks (probably all of them were).

Maybe I could/should have been a bit more ruthless with my tactics and targeted some teams with one sheep or no sheep, leaving these players to others. You never know though - it's not impossible for them to be tried and slip through. I could have blocked 'clever' picks like Laudrup and Ronaldo on pick 1 and 3 but then Maradona and Puskas might have been drafted by the managers instead! Eusebio was my main concern I suppose when I blocked Puskas but obviously Ronaldo was a great pickup.

    I blocked: 1) C.Ronaldo, 2) Eusebio, 3) Maradona.

I saved Maradona until the last. I should have blocked Ronaldo.

Aaaah. Tried for Puskas as well. I guess we both cancelled each other out as I don't think anyone blocked Puskas in Round 1.

I think Puskas was one of those link players wasn't he?So he could have been picked up after never getting banned in the normal way.

Michael Laudrup was El Mata's link player IIRC (didn't check the updates just now) so he sort of assisted Breitner's Wig inadvertently (but got a great duo of Platini/Guardiola)!

I suppose my link player Johnny Rep is another one I could have used in the Wilkes position in my team but Wilkes was really the one I'd decided to try for like I say. I didn't really think anyone would try Rep but I suppose it was a possibility if someone wanted to just get a safe pass on a pick (but unlikely with so many options and a few drafters with a good team already and trying for a superstar while others trying to replace sheep in particular roles).

I nominated Gullit.... basically, to get as many playmaker/offensive midielder on the draft as possible so that I can get Rivelino.

I thought he had already been banned. My nominations were Sandro Mazzola, Boniek and Deyna in a similar strategy but I messaged excape goat instead of lanman by mistake.

My plan was probably Laudruo, Gullit then Socrates. I was still considering Rivelino, Didi and Rivera but was less sure they would make it through. I avoided some top names because replacing Nicky Hunt had to be the priority.

I would also have considered left backs and left Zambrotta on the left wing (versatility was the main reason i went for him straight after a first round sheep) but it looked like a congested area to me - this explaining my last two blocks.

Oh I was considering Zizinho highly as well. Felt Laudrup had the correct attributes in the end.

One or two of the picks baffled me formation/tactics wise but I'll look again when tactics come up. I'd even mixed up one of Vasu and Twenty26six's players, Rio and someone else so that explained another two!

Round 9 summary up in a few minutes. I'm not going to format it though (for successful picks etc).
