Afraid so. Both of you need to select sheep - both picks went in the second phase. I'll post the full results up tomorrow to give fraser and schwuppe time to pick.
Hah, figures. I thought we have a list from which to select sheep? Anyway, as it turned out with the last draft, the sheep themselves don't much matter.
Just need a few people to suggest who they think should qualify as a sheep. We don't want someone who's going to cripple teams, but is still a clear step down from the rest. I would suggest people like Jon Dahl Tomasson or Stephane Chapuisat, but it's up to the other drafters to say whether they think they're acceptable or not.
I think guys like Tomasson and Chapuisat are fair enough, especially compared to most of the strikers that people will be drafting. A few random suggestions: Ali Daei Eric Wynalda Rigobert Song Jeff Agoos Marcelo Balboa Cobi Jones Lee Young-Pyo Kevin Kilbane Steven Staunton Geremi Thomas Helveg
I think these are ok for sheep: Angelos Basinas Claudio Reyna Ji-Sung Park Anders Svensson Mart Poom Olof Mellberg Jorge Campos Savo Milosevic No objections to the others mentioned either.
Apologies for missing the 2nd rd deadline. I've been absolutely swamped at work over the past week. I'll send my 2 selections to lanman within the next 20mins or so.
Damn there is a lot of fine players on that list. I am very pleased with the one I got though I suggest these guys added to the sheep list: Thomas Ravelli Fernando Couto Ulises de la Cruz Andreas Herzog Theodoros Zagorakis Dennis Rommedahl Alex Aguinaga Ladislau Bölöni Bülent Korkmaz And I think the other sheep suggestions are fine. I believe Jon Dahl Tomasson is perfect for the sheep list. A fine and clever player with a high work rate and a nose for goals (he has scored many important goals for Denmark, I definitely owe him that) but with a lack of power, speed and technique which will make him look odd on any All Time team.
What's with all this half-way decent sheep talk? They're supposed to suck! I nominate Amado Guevara as a possible sheep.
Hey, Guevara was/is half-way decent... when he could actually be bothered... which wasn't much of the time. ;P
Honestly, I'm tempted to let people pick my sheep at random - it really didn't matter in the last draft.
I knew it... I think I know who picked the man I tried to get in the second round. Now the sheep... If I had to pick, I would take Tomasson, if the other drafters are okay with it. If not, I can change with another player. Hope there will be a chance to pick the 12th player like last year.
Yeah, I'm not too sure about that. I think he's a notch above the rest. I would be tempted to exclude Ravelli as well, until we see how people's keeper selections pan out.
12 rounds again, so you'll have the opportunity to leave Tomasson out (providing you don't get another sheep).

Round 2 Select a player who has played in a 3rd place match at the World Cup Picks to be submitted via PM before Tuesday 22nd March - 8pm (GMT) The player must have played some part in the match to be elligible. Unused substitutes are not allowed. I will allow the match between Sweden and Spain from the final group to class as a 3rd place match for the purpose of this round.
There's a good selection of players available here without opening up the very best for the draft. 2002 is looking like rich pickings for a sheep for this round.
I was debating between two players for my second round pick (and my first round pick), didn't take him either time only to discover no one tried to pick him at all. Figures! I'm almost tempted to take Jorge Campos as my sheep, though yes, I'd prefer Ravelli.
When I saw who passed with their first picks, I knew EXACTLY who Kyle P, doro, and Excape took. Exactly. And, Fraser, you should have known better!
I'm happy with that round. I had 4 players in mind. 2 were blocked (Beckenbauer and Bozsik), I got the other one (Moore) and the final one wasn't chosen at all.
I'm really suprised one player in particular wasn't taken, I actually thought he would get banned. :O
