Ok I guess I lied when I said I would no longer post new threads, of note I've been off my meds again "not by choice." We have several weeks till the Puerto Rico Match and I would like to, again bring up the idea of an SG workshop in Peaze park. An all day, or at least most of the day, event where we bring togethor all our flag, banner, song, drumming, tifo etc. materials togethor and have a true bonding experience while making stuff for our section and in the proccess have a couple of beers and maybe some bbq. What you lads think? Oh and as far as what day specifically, I will have this Sunday off maybe then if there is enough response this time around.
well there ya go. Now we all ready have a two man drum circle . I'll bring the beer, along with my drums, if you'll bring a couple a burgers and buns. < hey that kinda rhymes. We'll do lunch.
Unfortunately, my travel is once again going to interfere as I'm going to be in out of town. However, press on!
just to give you guys my suggestion for a time, and specify the place. 1pm at the picnic area nearest Austin Java and the Tavern aka the Eeyors b-day area of the park.
If your brave you could do it on April 25th on Eeyore's Birthday. Not sure if money-less "neo-hippies" would care. but there are still a lot of regular people that make it out for the food and festivities. Mabye recrute of few drummers. This is for the brave only. I for one cannot stand a thousand hippy wannabees in the same place. It's like a thousand "Leslie's." Makes me sick. Doesn't matter what thing your into. It's just that some people take douchery to the next level. Anyway a bbq or something would be cool as long as there is more than a couple of people and if there is some real purpose. I need specifics though as to what will be accomplished.
I think this Sun. would be awesome, if there is enough interest, and at the latest we should do it the weekend before the home opener on April 18. A As far as "what" we would accomplish beside just some good ole fashioned SG bonding. #1 We would be in an outdoor setting with plenty of room to stretch out materials we would like to make "large" banners, flags, etc. out of. #2 again being outdoors, and in a public park, we could make plenty of noise and in the process practice our chanting, singing, and drumming without any fear of repurcussions from disgruntled patrons and or establishment owners. #3 it would be a PD of E on our part for the Aztex and would only serve to get people in the area at least interested in what we are all about, as well as our club.
Well, one thing would be defining and practicing a "song list" -- from one-line chants, to multi-stanza ballads if anyone's got the guts. There's been a lot of discussion, and at least four attempts to print up a list of tunes. If we brought all those ideas back together, decide on the ones people really want to do, practice those enough to figure out what works, and come out of it with a plan and an actual performable song list for PR on April 3, it's a couple of hours well spent. But yes, we'd need five or six (or preferably more) people at least. I could do 1pm, Pease. Where can you park near there?
There's a parking area here. Toward the creek. I tried adjusting it to point it out better, but couldn't get it to.
As far as numbers go Chris is in, I'm deffinatly in obviously, Violet you sound like your good to go as do you Nick, and Queso might be comming with his kids. Soo thats nearly six right their.
well it's friday now and I stil haven't gotten a good idea as to how many of you lads will be their this Sun. I'll be there, all by my lonesome if neccessary, with my drums, my sheets, some fabric paint and some beer, just to perk you iffy dudes interests.
one other thing about all this, from me at least. Should this rainy weather continue on till Sun, and should it be acctually raining at 1pm, meet me at Cuatro's cus I still whanna talk and maybe hand out a few son/chant sings and possible, with enough beer in ya, we'll practice their.
I will go to peace on Sunday weather permitting, with my young ones. But if the weather keeps up then I'm gonna pass.
Last thing I saw, this morning's rain should've been it. According to News 8, the forecast is: 74° Abundant Sunshine, Less Wind
one more thing. There is a smaller grill there, for cooking hamburgers sausages and such, that doesn't have to be rented out in advance. Soo if any of you bring anything grillable bring some charcoal along with you.
Well lads it's Sat. and I am only sure Chris and Steven will be there beside me. But it's all good, and again I'm bringing beer, my drums, my red and white section divider, and some fabric paint and the three of us, not including Steve's little uns, will get to have it and all the fun to ourselves if not another one of ya shows up. See ya at 1pm in Peaze brothas.
Sorry I didn't make it. I feel like total crap. It seems as I've ended up with another cold. Either that, or allergies. Either way, I'm sitting here staring at the wall. About as much energy as I could come up with. Hope you had fun. It sure it beautiful outside.
All and all I think this first, and hopefully not the last, workshop in Pease was a success, even though it was only me, Chris, and Steve with his two little uns. We kicked it with some kids, we painted up half of the sheet banner I brought and I finished the other half after everyone else left, it turns out that that "4 hr. wait" instruction on the bottle was a misnomer. And wait till you guys get a load of this thing too. I wont tell you what all is written on it, and infact nobody but me knows as of now what is written on all of it and I plan to keep it that way till Fri. However I will tell you guys, who weren't there, this. It is made up of two red and two white halved king sized bed sheets sown togethor and the words were written with the intent of it being displayed as a horizontal, not a vertacal, display.
Ok Ok, let me take some guesses.... "Care Bears Supporters Group" "Tacos Y Mas" "I Love Mom" "Enchiladas FC" "Taco Flavored Kisses" "Toronto FC" "Joanus Brothers United" "Real Caesar Salad" "AC Delco"
