Anyone read this? http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...ims-Arsenal-frontman-playing-four-months.html
Where did you see that he'd already torn it? Before/during the match?? And he was playing on a partially torn ACL???
Glanced at it. Sounds like someone trying to sell something. Don't expect Theo or Arsenal will be buying.
The dude's previous tweets said that the surgeon said that he had partially torn it before. Sorry, I lost the link to those tweets.
I suspect it could be possible though, right? I imagine some of the best surgeons in this world could reduce his recovery time. I hope Arsenal get one of the best because Theo deserves it and if he has the slightest chance of making int to Brazil he should take it.
Thanks for the well-reasoned rebuttal. Did I just accidentally post on the main Spurs website fan forum?
even if his recovery time was reduced from 6 months to 4 months, he would still be just about starting to train as the season ends. this means that he wouldn't have proper games to 1) build up his match fitness and 2) regain form. i can't see how it's possible for him to go to brazil, no matter how quickly he recovers. england and the player would be taking an enormous risk (one that might have long term consequences). i don't see that happening.
I'm reserving judgment until completely official reports from the club. But if they signed him either (a) without doing a thorough enough medical, or (b) knowing he was carrying a significant injury, then that would be, to put it mildly, hard to believe. But let's just see what the truth is, assuming Arsenal are willing to share that with us in the next day or two.
Yeah I just heard Robbie Mustoe's comment about the whole thing. He said it was an embarrasing mistake. I can't say I disagree. It seems it all came from leaving things too late in the window, which is Wenger's hallmark? I gotta believe if they had had KK in a week earlier they would've picked this up and nixed it. But who knows. We probably never will. Let's just try to be positive about it at this point. Maybe he'll be a real asset by mid March. Just pray we haven't lost touch with the various competitions by then.
Well Spartak are covering his wages for the first six weeks, it appears. So that makes it better, although still so odd. We could be in a situation where by the time he is ready to play, there won't be any room for him.
Think Wenger made the right decision concerning Kallstrom. He's basically free until he plays, and he's on a very low wage. Could easily see the team needing him in April/May for a few games when our other midfielders are suspended/tired or god forbid injured.
Good point. I bet a micro-fracture of the back isn't exactly the best thing for getting to 100% match fitness.
Just a FYI: that is not a training photo rather he was warming up for the U21 game against Southampton that is underway.
Losing 2 key players to injuries from national team friendlies always sucks. But coming at our worst do-or-die season-defining, crunch month, when we're already missing Theo & Aaron it's more like a calamity. Jack is gone for 8 weeks with a broken foot bone. Koz has supposedly picked up a hamstring problem. At least we should get Ramsey back within a week or two I guess.
